Happy Monday, friends – hope everyone has an amazing weekend!  After spending four nights in Las Vegas, it was so good to make it home to Orange County yesterday just in time for something so rare: a fall rainstorm.  Although it put a little damper on yesterday’s shopping event, once I got home I wasted zero time before I was curled up on the couch, wrapped up in a favorite blanket, feeling ALL of the fall vibes.  I woke up this morning to even more rain and really had to double-check that we were in fact home.  And I’m loving it – what a way to kick off my Monday.  So in the spirit of all things fall, today I’m layering up, and there’s no easier way to do it than with an oversized little poncho.  I love the suede lining of this one, perfect for mixing prints, and that denim shirt is so great as a middle layer.  The skirt is the one that I wore 497 times last year, and the burgundy boots?  I had no idea how much use I would get out of a pair of burgundy over-the-knee boots, but I’ve worn the hell out of these.  They go with so much more than you’d think.  Mine are sadly sold out, but I’m linking a similar pair here.  And there you have it.  Easy peasy fall layering in a snap.  Now all you need is a little something pumpkin spice.  Hope everyone has a great week ahead!

Getting Cozy at Home With Stein Mart

Ahhh, you guys!  I’m so, so excited for today’s post because I feel like it’s been a few months coming.  If you haven’t been following along on Instagram (why, girl?), you may have missed a few sneak peeks at the whole home remodel situation that’s been going down since Eric and I got married.  That’s right, we bought a house!  (Woo-hoo!)  A realllll fixer-upper.  Like the kind of fixer-upper where you rip the whole thing down to the studs and start from scratch.  It’s been quite the process, but it’s so nice that we can make each room our own.  But, you know, these things take time.  Lots of it.  Lots and lots of it.

But finally, finally the rooms are coming together (while other parts of the house are quite another story…), and I’m loving the decorating process.  So without further babbling on, today I’m sharing our guest bedroom in collaboration with Stein Mart.  I unfortunately don’t really have any before photos of this room because, well, there was nothing really in there besides a bed and dresser.  It was a real work-in-progress, or a blank slate, I’ll say.  So armed with a gift card and the two best design assistants ever (AKA my mom and aunt – seriously, they’re the best!), I headed to my local Stein Mart without a clue really what I was looking for.

And the ball started rolling quickly.  I spotted the mirror and little square bench first and was like, yes and yes.  The bedding was next, and for some reason, I’m just hooked on white bedding only.  No prints, no patterns, no colors, no thank you.  White bedding, and it’s non-negotiable.  I grabbed this white linen set and moved onto picking a little color in the pillows.  Many of the rooms in our house for one reason or another are turning out to be a smidge on the masculine side, so I figured this guest room could be my girly room.  So the blush and grey and velvet and faux fur and flowers and such just happened.  And I LOVE it.

These days, it’s so pretty and cozy that I feel like we should be sleeping in it once a week or something.  Maybe not, but I do really love how it turned out, and I seriously can’t believe the crazy good steals that I found at Stein Mart.  Like that mirror, y’all?  Under $80.  Same goes for the little bench.  The throw, the bedding, the pillows, the flowers – have you looked at the prices of all that jazz other places?  Because it’s bananas.  So I figured why stop with the guest bedroom?  Stay tuned for Stein Mart steals in our master bedroom and a full fall tablescape, coming ‘atcha real soon.

Recently I’ve been running around grabbing those last-minute things that I need for New York Fashion Week (AKA, #allthewarmthings!), but all I am is distracted by all things spring.  Y’all!  There are so many pretty little pieces coming ‘atcha, and right now I’m loving all the white.  Blame it on the whole bride thing.  Or blame is on the fact that we’re currently in an 80-degree-days heat wave here.  I mean, this necklace, this skirt, and this lace dress.  I don’t even know what to do with myself besides, well, a little online shopping.  Who’s with me?

How was everyone’s weekend?  Not gonna lie, this one was another #oneforthebooks for me.  On Friday we received our Save the Dates from Minted, and I wasted no time getting them stuffed, sealed, and stamped.  Today they’ll be on their way which is one more thing to check off that wedding list.  I shared a little sneak peek here, but I’ll be sharing more on that later.  Then this weekend was the Newport Beach Food & Wine Festival, and I can think of pretty much nothing that’s more up my alley.  I met up with Kathleen and Ashley there to try ALL of the food, and most of the wine.  If you missed out this year, make sure you get there next year.  It was an awesome event that surpassed my expectations.  And well, WINE.  And food.  You get the idea.

Today I’m taking things back to New York during Fashion Week and sharing this plaid vest slash dress situation that is definitely one of my favorite pieces for fall.  It’s made by Wayf, who can pretty much do no wrong in my book.  The sleeveless design is perfect for our current weather, but how cute is it layered over a blouse?  So many options with this one.  Also, loving the unintentional coordination with Jenn, Kathleen, and Krystal in the group shot above and missing this group terribly.  Excited I’ll get to see little Jenn soon though when I visit New Orleans this week!  So excited – stay tuned for that trip.  Hope everyone’s week is off to a great start!

How was everyone’s weekend?  Besides the major heatwave around here, our weekend was plan-free and pretty perfect.  Sometimes it’s so nice to just have no plans.  Today’s look is the one that I wore to the RewardStyle party during New York Fashion Week, and it was definitely a choice that I didn’t regret.  This jumpsuit and vest combo still looked pretty fresh after wearing it all day, and the shoes are so comfortable.  (I had brought flats with me for the day but actually never needed to put them on.)  Per the usual, I’m loving all things 70s inspired for fall, so this look definitely did the trick.  Stay tuned for more #NYFW photos coming to the blog soon!

Oldie but goodie: Julie Vos jewels.  If you haven’t checked out the line, today is the day.  They are having a major sample sale with so many delicious pieces marked WAY down.  (Currently loving these Stingray Bangles)  No time like the present to head over and get your shop on.
Happy Friday, everyone!  Above are a few of my favorite things this week, including a couple of September issues that I’ve yet to sink my teeth into.  I’m thinking this weekend at the beach will be the perfect time to jump in.  Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

While shopping for my head to toe MissGuided summer look a few weeks ago, I may or may not have had about a hundred other things in my shopping cart when it was time to checkout.  (To me, an overflowing shopping cart that’s edited down by a few simple clicks is half the beauty of online shopping.  The choosing is the hardest part.)  While I’ve already gone back for yesterday’s floral little number, there are still a ton of summer picks on the site just calling my name.

LBD Me: MissGuided may be filled with bold prints and bright summer looks, but it still definitely feeds my little black dress addiction.  While I’ve always been a sucker for a slightly oversized t-shirt dress, the adorable fit-and-flare skirted silhouettes are a current phase.  Loving all four of these.

Summer Romp: Nothing screams summer to me more than an easy romper.  Whether dressed up with wedges for a warm night or worn casual with sandals during the day, a fun playsuit is a versatile summer favorite of mine.  I’m loving the standout tribal and floral prints along with the dressed-up red option.

Accessories, Please:  Every girl needs her accessories, and the prices here can’t be beat.  Go for a little sun protection with an of-the-moment hat or statement shades, grab a sleek handbag, or stock up on wear-everywhere sandals.

Have you checked out MissGuided yet?  What’s in your shopping bag?
