Today marks one whole month since we packed up our entire house and moved to a rental house while we undergo a remodel.  One whole month of going without my entire closet because everything is wrapped up tightly in plastic to keep the construction dust out.  Sure, I’ve snuck back in a couple of times to grab this piece or that, but for the most part, I’ve been living in the few pieces that I packed…and a few that I’ve recently purchased.

I’ll admit that I’ve done a tiny bit of shopping over the last couple of weeks, but not nearly as much as I thought I might feel like I needed to.  (And to be fair, a new season is just around the corner that I’d probably be shopping for anyway.)  And the reason is simple.  Lately I’ve been sticking with easy budget basics that I can wear over and over again with different pieces from my (temporary) closet.  Easy tees like the one above (only $17 and SO soft) and this $25 striped version (that I scooped up in both colors) are great for layering, mixing and matching.  Distressed denim is a no-brainer for everyday-wear, and this pair is so comfortable and under $75.  (In fact, every piece in the look above is under $100.)

And then there are the sneakers.  To say that I’m obsessed with these would definitely be an understatement.  When I first bought them, I was a little undecided whether they were actually going to get much use, but I was so wrong.  Y’all, I wear the crap out of these.  They are so very comfy and are definitely one of my new favorite denim companions.  And to be honest, they make me feel like my sweats are a little more…um, grocery store acceptable.  I love these so much, that I’ve gone a little sneaker mad lately and will be sharing 20 of my favorites on the blog tomorrow.  So stay tuned for that.  And stay tuned for more budget basics coming your way that are great for now and into Spring.  Hope everyone’s week is off to a great start!

xoxo
