$500 Skincare Giveaway - My Style Diaries

It’s been quite a while since I shared a skincare roundup here, and this post has been a long time coming. I’d say for me hands-down one of the coolest parts about being a blogger is that I get to try out SO MANY different beauty brands, from makeup products that haven’t launched yet to skincare finds that I might have never gotten the chance to try. (When skincare is on the pricey side, it’s pretty hard for me to pull that trigger unless I KNOW I already love the product.) I legit have a dresser in my office FULL of different hair products, makeup, and skincare, and lately, the skincare is my favorite to try on for size. And for good reason. This week, I’ll be turning the big three-OH, and now more than ever, I’m really into protecting and improving my skin. Like, really into it. And over the past few months, I feel like all of my dedication has paid off, and my skin is in a better place than it’s been in years. Almost 30 and all.

So today I’m excited to share my favorite, favorite skincare products of the moment. These are the products I actually use and love and would buy again and again. So here goes –

Daily / Weekly regimen:

Kate Somerville Skincare – You guys, this stuff is the Holy Grail. I’ve tried quite a few of their products out over the last couple of months and have yet to find a bad one in the bunch. My daily go-to duo is their Gentle Daily Wash (I keep it in the shower) and the Deep Tissue Repair Cream. This stuff is a little pricey, but holy-moly does it make my skin feel like a million bucks. (So worth adding to that holiday wish list of yours.) About twice a week, I also add in the Exfolikate in the shower. It’s an intense exfoliating treatment that makes your face tingle while it’s working. I spread it on my face similar to a mask and let it sit while I go for the conditioner and body wash. When you rinse it off, your face seriously feels brand new.

Clarisonic Mia – There’s a reason there’s so much hype around Clarisonic – they really do just work. I’ve used a Clarisonic for YEARS and just upgraded to a new one. Personally I love the Deep Pore Cleansing Brush head because it just makes my skin feel really squeaky clean. I use mine almost daily with the Kate Somerville Gentle Daily Wash.

Olly Nutrition Vibrant Skin Gummies – I’ve taken these gummies every single day for the past three months and can really see a difference in my skin. Call me crazy, I don’t care. These are really delicious so I actually remember to take them every day, which I think is half the battle with vitamins – remembering to take them! I loved these so much that I’ve also tried out the Restful Sleep gummies before bed, and I’m already on bottle #2.

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Towelettes – I love makeup remover towelettes, like, a lot. Like, I’d drive to the store at 10 pm if I realized that I was out of them. I’ve tried a ton of brands, but I keep going back to these from Neutrogena. If it makes sense, they’re the dampest cloths I’ve found, so you don’t end up scrubbing your skin with some dry tissue. Yuck. The classic version is great, and I also love the Night Calming pack.

For breakouts:

DDF Skincare – No matter how good my skincare regimen is, I will always get those occasional monthly breakouts, and this line is like calling in the big guns. Personally I love the Salicylic Wash and Benzoyl Peroxide Gel for clearing up blemishes fast.

Biore Self-Heating One-Minute Mask – Biore almost feels a little nostalgic to me because I loved their products so much in high school. And today, the products are still really great. This self-heating mask is my hands-down favorite when I’ve got a breakout in the works. Added bonus though, it’s just really relaxing and soothing to do this mask at night before bed. The self-heating factor, so good.

Treatments:

Over the past couple of years, I’ve also tried to incorporate semi-regular facials into my skincare routine. A former employer of mine seriously had the best skin I’d ever seen, and she attributes it to regular facials since a younger age. I needed no other explanation than that – sold! So here are a couple of my favorite places for a skin refresh.

Kate Somerville Skin Health Experts – Again, Kate Somerville just knows good skin. If you’re in LA, I’d say this is my fave spot. They’ll work with you to figure out the best options for your skincare needs. The actual location is beautiful and tranquil, and bonus points that you can pop on over to Alfred Tea afterwards.

Spa Gregories in Newport Beach – I recently checked out their Cranberry Pomegranate Facial, a fall special, and LOVED the results. Baby’s bottom, I tell ya’.

Facialworks in Newport Beach – This place is pretty cool. It’s meant to make the whole spa experience more accessible and affordable, so that the average gal can treat herself to a facial without breaking the bank. The facial bar services start at $50, and I’ve tried it out – they’re not skimping on quality or service. The location is pretty adorable, and it’s got an open room setting, perfect for going with a couple of girlfriends or solo.

I am currently obsessed with Doctor D. Schwab Flawless Skin Fluid. It is MAGIC if you need to run out of the house and don’t have any make up on. Gives an amazing glow.

My current skin care favorite is the Origins Drink up Intensive Overnight Mask. I recently bought this after reading so many reviews and I just absolutely had to get it. It is an amazing products that makes my skin look amazing and not oily whatsoever.

The Neutrogena makeup wipes are my go-to for nights that I’m lazy and need to get my makeup off before bed. They are so gentle on skin. I need some good products to help with random acne and good repairing creams, but I have never known what to try so I will give these products a try!

I have so many issues with my skin that I’ve turned to Olive Oil for my face wash. I actually really like it. I also love Vichy products, they are amazing!

I love the B’iore skin care line too! I’ve been using it since high school and love their recent addition of the charcoal line! I’ve been thinking about trying Kate Somerville and it’s good to hear GREAT reviews before spending the money!

I have been using Rodan + Fields products and really love them but I want to start incorporating other products into my regimen so my skin doesn’t get too used to the R+F products and want to have perfect skin for my wedding next year. im using dr brandt right now i like it seems to be working for me for fade spots but i usually try anything cause i have oily skin and i try to keep murads in my bathroom at all time that works for me also

I love Rodan+Fields Redefine regimen – kaolin clay mask/cleanser, pore-minimizing toner, spf 30 day cream, retinol and hyaluronic acid night cream. I also incorporate Unblemish sulfur mask once a week, and Unblemish step 3 dual active treatment gel for spot-treating, plus eye cream.

I also love La Mer Creme de la Mer in the fall and winter when my skin is parched. The new L’Oreal Bright Reveal cleanser and peel pads are awesome, too.

    Nikki, the skin care line is brand new–it’s only been out since September. I’m not a fan of their mascara, though. I don’t like the fibers–they flake. I do like a lot of their other makeup products. Can you send me an email with the mascaras you use, waterproof, preferably? Thanks! xoxo

This is so awesome and would be so, so amazing to win. I have always love the Neutrogena wipes too! I also am a die hard fan of the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel moisturizer.. it’s so cooling and so moisturizing on my skin. I can tell how quick my skin soaks it up

Right now, I like the La Roche Posay Effaclar cleanser because it’s nice and gentle, and I like the Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Serum because it helps smooth out my forehead.

I do not have skin care favorites right now. I just had a baby so I am trying to find something that will work well with my skin. It seems while I was pregnant my usual regimen had to be thrown out the window as I looked like a teenager again. Once I stopped my products the acne stopped. I have been just washing with water and applying coconut oil under my eyes until I can find something to start using.

I’m currently trying to find my HG skincare products but I really love the Pixi Glow toner and Cosrx low pH cleanser! I use tretinoin for my hormonal acne and just turned 30 on Oct 30th so I’m really looking to step up my game even more! I love mixing up my own masks using green and red clay powders, yogurt, honey, charcoal, whatever my skin needs that day. And I’m into K beauty as well. My current skin care favorites are my ultrasonic facial steamer, Bioderma makeup remover, and Garnier Deep Wrinkle Roller. I think the Clarisonic would be a work well with the facial steamer!
