Bring on the Long Weekend

Mmmmkay, so I KNOW it’s only Thursday, but anyone else ready to call it quits on this week and head straight into the long weekend?  I mean, technically it’s a 3-day weekend, but we all know tomorrow is really when things kick off.  This Labor Day weekend is especially exciting for me because four of my best friends from high school are flying in, and I’m Jessie Spano excited.  I haven’t had any of these gals visit since I lived in Los Angeles, and that certainly feels like a lifetime ago.

So we’re planning on spending a bit of time in Huntington Beach and then heading to Palm Springs for some desert pool time.  They’re coming just in time for a Southern California heatwave, so things should be pretty toasty in Palm Springs.  I’ve warned the gals to bring the most lightweight clothing they own, and for me, this dress is one of those pieces.

I scooped it up recently at H&M, and for the hottest of days, this dress is all of the things – lightweight and breezy with some nice, roomy sleeves.  (Nothing skeeves me like some tight-fitting armholes on a steamy day.  You know?)  It’s perfect for these last weeks of summer and will be so cute with little ballet flats going into (Southern California) fall.  Throw on a mule, grab a statement handbag, and bring on the long weekend.  Happy almost Friday, y’all!
