Fit Style Meets Street Style

Sometimes the only time I have to squeeze in a little exercise is right smack in the middle of my day, so it’s always nice to have a few great workout basics that can easily transition from “fit style” to “street style” with little effort.  Today I’m partnering with Athleta, and I must say, their spring collection definitely made it difficult to narrow down my choices.  There are so many great options in fun colors to help you shake off those winter blues and get motivated.  For my personal “fit style”, I love a great-fitting legging with something looser up top, and this tight and dolman tee combo fit the bill perfectly.  Afterwards, I took off the coral top and threw on a leather jacket over the fun printed tank.  I switched up my sneakers for a more street-friendly wedge version and threw on a beanie and scarf.  By adding in some great new pieces to my spring workout wardrobe, I’ll definitely be less likely to make excuses and more likely to get out and get moving.  Head over to Athleta to get a little fit-spiration of your own.  Hope everyone’s week is off to a great start!

After last weekend’s amazing trip to New York and this week’s busy schedule of playing catch-up, my body is finally feeling the recent lack of sleep.  This weekend I’ll be taking it easy (and maybe taking a nap or two), and I couldn’t be happier about it.  Super Bowl Sunday is the perfect time to relax, indulge in a few (too many) snacks, and check out the latest million-dollar commercials.  In preparation for this weekend, today’s look is a little bit sporty and a lotta bit comfy.  Sweatshirt dresses are an absolute weakness of mine, and for about 20 bucks, this one was screaming my name at Forever 21.  These sneakers have rarely left my feet over the last week, and pre-Fashion Week, my feet are definitely thanking me.  Finished things off with an old favorite scarf and a new favorite bag (scooped up at H&M for about $7 – score).  Happy Friday, and hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

Ahh, New York.  It’s been my home away from home for the last three days, and it’s been an incredible little trip.  Along with three other bloggers (Naty, Amy, and Katie), I had the amazing opportunity to shoot with Lucky Magazine and P&G for their New Voices of Beauty campaign, thanks to your votes!  On Sunday we headed out to brunch with a couple of Lucky editors and then out in SOHO for a little shopping.  We had such a great (and freezing!) day and weekend, and I can’t wait to share the finished video with you guys in a few weeks.  Today I’m headed home to California, but I can’t wait to make it back in a few short days for Fashion Week.  There really is something so special about this city.  Thank you so much to Lucky Magazine and P&G for hosting us this weekend, and thank you all for your votes that made this little dream weekend possible.  Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

Today I’m rounding up a few things on my current wishlist, and they just so happen to come together for one easy look that I’d like to be wearing today.  Because the search for the perfect faux leather legging is never quite over, I’m dying to try this simple, sleek pair from Sanctuary, and while on their site, I fell for this army shirt jacket (and a hundred other things).  While I love dressing up leather leggings with a standout heel or bootie, I’m also a fan of tomboy-ing them up a bit with wedge sneakers.  These come in three great colors, and they’re half off – sold.  An easy, taupe-y crossbody is seasonless, and I’ve been thinking about adding a little more rose gold to my (admittedly crowded) jewelry collection.  I love how these delicate pieces balance out the toughness of the look.  What’s on your current wishlist?

After Monday’s sporty style, I decided to kick the vibe up a notch and paired the versatile navy mini with a favorite knotted tee and wedge sneakers.  A statement necklace helps cool down the tomboy factor, and stacked jewels and a crossbody bag finish it off.  During the warm transitional days into fall, this is the perfect cool and comfy combo for whatever the day throws at you.  Hope everyone is having a great week!

This week seems to be dragging along at a record slow pace, and getting dressed in the morning takes a little extra brain power.  It’s times like these when all I want to do is throw on comfy jeans and an oversized tee and call it a day.  To avoid the whole “I’m so tired I didn’t even try” thing, choose a luxe tee, and skip the sneakers for a pair of cute booties.  Pull the look together with a contrasting scarf and handbag combo and sleek accessories.  Oh, and a cozy jacket is probably necessary, seeing as it’s January and all.  T.G.I.(almost)F.,  kids.

Get the Look!

Roadtrip

This weekend we took a little roadtrip up the coast from Newport Beach to San Francisco.  On the first day we had lunch in Santa Barbara, stopped for an impromptu roadside driving break in a tiny farm town and finally settled for the night at an oceanside inn in the beautiful and charming town of Cambria.  (If you ever have the chance, a night or two in Cambria is SO worth the drive, and dinner at the Sea Chest Oyster Bar and Seafood Restaurant is an absolute must.  We definitely plan on making the trip again in the future.)  A favorite Riller & Fount LBD and wedge sneakers were the perfect comfortable-meets-chic car companions for the drive.  All in all the weekend was amazing, but it is so nice to be home.  Hope everyone had a great weekend!
