Blame it on the fact that this SoCal “winter weather” just won’t quit or that my current everyday uniform consists of workout wear and sweats, but if there’s one trend from fall that I’m still loving, it’s anything resembling a teddy jacket.  And let’s be honest, I knew this one wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon for me.  Something cozy and soft and oversized and just so good?  Sign me up…times a few it seems.

I first scooped up my favorite ivory version in New York during the fall (seen here and here) and have worn that fuzzy little number more than I even care to admit.  It’s just…so fun.  I recently snagged this oversized version in green, and then a couple weeks later, wouldn’t you know the pink puff above somehow made her way into my closet?  I guess you could say things are getting a little out of hand, but I gotta say, I really don’t care.

If you haven’t tried out the trend (or just want to get a little out of hand with it like yours truly), I’m rounding up a few favorites below that are almost all under $100 with a bunch under $40.  Most of the versions that I’ve tried have run a little large, so I’d say it’s usually best to size down.  So scroll around and pick your fave – something’s gotta hold us over until spring, right?

Holy hell, y’all – August is coming in hot so far.  Last night might have been the hottest night’s sleep this summer, and today is already starting off toasty.  So these days I’m living for anything lightweight and flowy, and this little printed midi dress definitely fits the mold.  I’m digging the vintage-y print, front pockets, and button-down style that can be buttoned or unbuttoned to your heart’s desire.  (Love how one color is styled half-open over shorts on the website.)

And heatwave or not, I’ll take any excuse to stop in at Kreem, an adorable new artisan ice cream shop right down the street from our house in Palm Springs.  I shot these photos a couple of weeks ago and just couldn’t resist a cone of the Vegan Tang flavor.  I’m normally not vegan, but I mean, Tang?  Sign me up.  Am I the only one having childhood flashbacks thinking about Tang?  You know it’s delish.  Plus, when your scoop matches your dress, that’s just the ice cream on top, right?

Seriously though, next time you’re in Palm Springs, make sure you check out Kreem for a little sweet treat.  (And a few more restaurant recs here.)  They’ve got new, crazy unique flavors ALL the time, and because each flavor is small batch, the menu is always changing.  (And if you’re into something more classic, definitely go for the Cookies & Kreem – so good!)

And now I’m off to get in a little workout and then answer emails in some cafe somewhere because your girl needs a little air conditioning in her life, and it’s always better if you earn it, right?  Hope everyone is having a great week!

Cheers to Friday, friends!  Time to throw on your party pants and welcome the weekend.  Last week I had lunch at Pacific City with some of Eric’s family, and afterwards we popped into a couple of stores to shop.  For some reason, I always forget how much I LOVE Free People until I’m back in the store, wandering around, touching every single fabric.  Some of my favorite pieces over the years have been from Free People.  (Currently loving their denim shorts and always love their scarves for fall and winter.)

And when I saw these red pants, I was in love.  I’ve always been a fan of a good pair of wide leg pants because with wedges or heels underneath, they make your legs look a mile long.  There are only a couple of sizes left in this pair (make sure you size down – I’m wearing a small for reference), but I’m linking a couple other great pairs below.  Add a tucked tank, tee, or blouse, and you’re ready to go.

So I took my new party pants to Palm Springs for a fun little shoot last week, and even in the 112 degree heat, I had no regrets.  If you get a little toasty, just add a frozen cocktail from the Rowan Palm Springs – worked like a charm.  Here’s hoping everyone has a great weekend ahead!

The hot days roll on around here, and lately I’m looking for any way possible to beat the heat (or at least some way to prevent turning into the hot, bothered, slightly crazy lady that sometimes appears).  If I’m being honest, these days I rarely make it out of these Nike shorts and this matching tank.  I’m full-on Sporty Spice this summer, and I’m A-OK with that.

But on the rare day when the Nikes don’t exactly fit the dress code, then I’m reaching for these striped pretties.  They’re lightweight and breezy, super comfortable, and pretty freaking cute.  If you’re between sizes, I’d definitely recommend going down a size.  (There’s also an adorable matching tube top for you gals that are fine with a strapless bra situation.)  Paired with the breathable linen shirt that I’ve worn 1,000 times this summer, these shorts just may help me keep a little sanity.

Well, these shorts, made-up errands to walk around in air conditioning, and the never-ending return of a high ponytail.  And maybe occasionally a little chilled vino too.

Good morning, friends!  How was everyone’s weekend?  Mine was a total whirlwind in Mexico checking out the Pueblo Bonito Pacifica resort and celebrating our little Jenn getting married.  (Check out a little bachelorette party for Jenn here.)  It’s a Monday morning catch-up session around here, but I just had to share this denim romper look from Mexico before it’s completely sold out.  It was just fully in stock a couple of days ago, but unfortunately, it’s going FAST.  (It fits true to size and is so, so comfortable, by the way.)

I scooped it up along with these wedges before Cabo, and on both accounts, I’m so glad that I did.  Y’all, these wedges might just be the most comfy wedges that I own.  They’re super easy to walk in, and I even managed to wear them for two hours on a rocking sailboat for Jenn’s rehearsal dinner without any problems.  Not bad, right?

We had such an amazing time at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica, and I can’t wait to share more with you guys this week.
