Happy Tuesday, friends, from someone who can barely walk today.  Why, you ask?  Well I was supposed to get this blog post up earlier, but I agreed to go on a 19+ mile bike ride with Eric’s mom, aunt, and cousins.  We rode from Huntington to Sunset Beach and broke up the miles with a favorite breakfast stop at Harbor House Cafe.  I’m really happy that I joined them (God knows this summer body could always use a little more exercise and ocean views), but let’s just say I’m moving a little slowly this afternoon.

And contributing to my slowness?  The scorching heat in this house currently.  I’ve been on the hunt for anything and everything lightweight, airy, and breathable, and this dress is heatwave approved.  (You also can’t go wrong with any of these.)  Plus, I’m always down for a good ole’ summer stripe.  It’s a throw-on-and-go look with a roundie bag and the braided heels that I in no way possible could walk in since starting my professional bike-riding career this morning.

But who needs your favorite heels when you’ve got a belly full of Harbor House breakfast?  Priorities, ya know?

Happy Friday, friends!  We made it to the weekend, finally.  Last night Eric and I drove to Palm Springs for the second weekend of Modernism Week, and we’re so excited to take in a little home inspiration on the Moroccan Modern tour tomorrow.  We experienced our first taste of Modernism Week back in the fall and loved getting to tour some of the fabulous homes around us.  Admittedly we wanted to do more tours this time around, but we had family in town last week – so there’s always next season.

Tours or no tours, Palm Springs is always my happy place, and I’m so excited for the weekend and week ahead.  On Sunday, I’m trading out the husband and a couple of our friends for some of my best gals and a fun little girls’ week.  We planned for lots of sun, warm weather, and possibly pool time, but y’all – it’s cold here!  It’s definitely colder this weekend than it was for New Year’s Eve in the desert, but hey, I’m not complaining.  Just don’t be alarmed if you see me out and about in some type of pool kaftan topped with a winter coat – I have NO idea why my closet and suitcase here are filled with randomness.

One thing that did make the trip?  This denim jacket that I’ve worn a TON recently (last seen here).  It’s such an easy, versatile piece, and I love it over a comfy striped dress.  Also making the trip?  These leopard sneakers that get so much attention everywhere they go.  They look exactly like a leopard pair from this brand, but for a fraction of the price.  (Because I’m not about to spend anywhere near $400-500 on a pair of sneakers.  Just no.)

But a big, fat YES to the weekend ahead, and wishing everyone a good one!

Happy Friday, friends!  I’m fresh off of a two-night stay at the Hyatt in Huntington Beach, and I’ll tell ya, it’s not easy to leave that place.  There’s a full post on that coming up, but it’s been an amazing couple of days.  Thank God it’s the weekend because I’d be seriously blue right about now.  And actually, it’s not just any weekend.  It’s the weekend that we’re moving back into our house!  It’s been a looooong time coming, and I couldn’t be more excited.  The actual moving part is not so fun and things aren’t 100% finished at the house, but it’s close enough and we’re calling it quits on the rental finally.  I can’t wait to share so much home content in the coming months and get to the fun part: decorating.  (You can usually stay tuned in on the progress over on Instagram and Instagram stories.)  Hope everyone has an amazing weekend ahead!

Oh, hello!  After yesterday’s little Tuesday hiatus, I’m back on the blog in fall stripes, and this time it’s the world’s most comfy fall t-shirt dress.  I mean, I haven’t actually tried every t-shirt dress in the world, but I’ve tried a bunch and this one is good.  It’s a super soft, slightly thicker fabric so there’s no show-through.  It gives you a little room to breathe without looking like a giant trash sack, and the best part?  It’s currently on sale for $35, girl.  It’s available in six different colors, striped or solid, so take your pick and stock up while they’re on sale.  Once the temperatures drop, throw on a chunky cardigan, big cozy scarf, and over-the-knee boots.  Or don’t, but you can bet I will.  Here’s hoping everyone is having a great week!

Does it seem insane to anyone else that July 4th is less than a week away?  I mean, America’s b-day really snuck up on me this year, and that never happens.  I’m usually counting down the days far in advance because the 4th is a huge deal around here and definitely one of my most favorite days of the year.  A bike ride to the Huntington Beach parade, flag-waving, BBQ’ing, and watching fireworks from the beach at night.  It just doesn’t get any better, and I’m always reminded how lucky we are to enjoy our freedom here.
