Ahhh, you guys!  I’m so, so excited for today’s post because I feel like it’s been a few months coming.  If you haven’t been following along on Instagram (why, girl?), you may have missed a few sneak peeks at the whole home remodel situation that’s been going down since Eric and I got married.  That’s right, we bought a house!  (Woo-hoo!)  A realllll fixer-upper.  Like the kind of fixer-upper where you rip the whole thing down to the studs and start from scratch.  It’s been quite the process, but it’s so nice that we can make each room our own.  But, you know, these things take time.  Lots of it.  Lots and lots of it.

But finally, finally the rooms are coming together (while other parts of the house are quite another story…), and I’m loving the decorating process.  So without further babbling on, today I’m sharing our guest bedroom in collaboration with Stein Mart.  I unfortunately don’t really have any before photos of this room because, well, there was nothing really in there besides a bed and dresser.  It was a real work-in-progress, or a blank slate, I’ll say.  So armed with a gift card and the two best design assistants ever (AKA my mom and aunt – seriously, they’re the best!), I headed to my local Stein Mart without a clue really what I was looking for.

And the ball started rolling quickly.  I spotted the mirror and little square bench first and was like, yes and yes.  The bedding was next, and for some reason, I’m just hooked on white bedding only.  No prints, no patterns, no colors, no thank you.  White bedding, and it’s non-negotiable.  I grabbed this white linen set and moved onto picking a little color in the pillows.  Many of the rooms in our house for one reason or another are turning out to be a smidge on the masculine side, so I figured this guest room could be my girly room.  So the blush and grey and velvet and faux fur and flowers and such just happened.  And I LOVE it.

These days, it’s so pretty and cozy that I feel like we should be sleeping in it once a week or something.  Maybe not, but I do really love how it turned out, and I seriously can’t believe the crazy good steals that I found at Stein Mart.  Like that mirror, y’all?  Under $80.  Same goes for the little bench.  The throw, the bedding, the pillows, the flowers – have you looked at the prices of all that jazz other places?  Because it’s bananas.  So I figured why stop with the guest bedroom?  Stay tuned for Stein Mart steals in our master bedroom and a full fall tablescape, coming ‘atcha real soon.

xoxo

Nikki, I love the guest bedroom. Your mom has been keeping up with the “work in progress” at your new home. Looks like you really scored some “steals,: I mean deals on the bedding and accents! xoxo
