After quite a few years on top, there’s no question that skinny jeans are here to stay, but when fall rolls around, there’s nothing I love more than a great pair of flares.  They instantly make your legs look a mile long because you can hide your highest heel or wedge underneath, and in a clean, dark wash, they’re just so slimming.  Over the years I’ve tried quite a few brands, and to me the most flattering flares are made by McGuire Denim.  It’s like they’re the flare experts, and this year I may just have to scoop up a new pair.  The cut is nipped in a little tighter behind the knee, and they come with an unfinished hem that you can chop to your preferred length or have tailored.

But if there’s one question I always get regarding flares, it’s “What do I wear them with?”  Well, first – heels or wedges.  Please oh please oh please I beg you – please do not wear a flare with flats.  It takes the look from super slimming to…not so much.  (If flats are your thing, I’d just stick with another style of denim.)  And up top, there are tons of options, but I think they just go so well with a flowy blouse.  This one is under $60 and comes in three great-for-fall colorways.  An oversized vest finishes off the look and elongates everything just a bit more.  So if you’re thinking that you can’t wear flares, think again, and while you’re at it, you might as well give the most flattering flares a shot.  Hope everyone is having a great week!

xoxo
