3 Great Fall Jackets from Walmart

Happy Friday, friends!  I’m super excited for the weekend as I have a girls’ weekend in San Francisco planned, and wouldn’t you know the weather forecast is looking extra garbage-like for the next few days.  We’re talking chilly and rainy and lots of gloom.  No sweat for me, not gonna rain on my parade, but your SoCal gal needed a new jacket or two for the occasion.  (Full disclosure, that’s actually a total lie.  I have a closet full of coats from cold weather trips of years past, but when I saw these three jackets at Walmart, how could I resist?)

The faux fur above was the first to catch my eye, and I have no problem admitting that I’m a sucker for anything faux fur.  Gimme ALL the cozy!  This one comes in a couple of great colors and is seriously SO soft.  The quality is insane, and I know it’s a little early, but this one is sure to be an MVP around the holidays.

The wool coat below is just a total classic.  It’s super soft with zero itch factor, and I love that it has actual functioning pockets.  (In cold weather, I sometimes like to ditch my handbag and just throw the essentials in my jacket pocket – just don’t check your coat.)  This jacket is streamlined and flattering and 100% worth its under $50 price tag.  (I’ve already snagged it in black, too.)

And then there’s the faux leather puffer which is just so versatile.  I think it’s such an easy throw-on-and-go piece with jeans, leggings, joggers, you name it.  In SoCal, I’ll probably grab for this one a ton to throw on over workout clothes on colder days.  It’ll be the jacket I keep downstairs to grab whenever I need one.

Whether you’ve got a little weekend getaway to gloomy weather or are just looking for a an outerwear refresh without breaking the bank, you can’t go wrong with any of these.  Have a great weekend, y’all!

xoxo

Cozy Bedroom Refresh with Walmart

Cozy Bedroom Refresh with Walmart | My Style Diaries blogger Nikki PrendergastCozy Bedroom Refresh with Walmart | My Style Diaries blogger Nikki Prendergast Taupe quilt bedding setFringe and textured square pillowsTasseled rectangular pillowNightstandsCherry blossom artSherpa throw blanketShag dog bed

It’s been a while since I did a little bedroom restyle, and recently I had the itch.  (Nothing like a change in seasons to inspire some new bedding, #AmIRight?)  So I hit the interwebs and headed straight to Walmart.com, and I LOVE the new cozy, neutral vibes in here.  But before we even get to the bedding, I gotta start with step one and share these new nightstands with you guys.

You may remember that our old bedside tables were a little…bright.  Yep, they were teal, but they were never supposed to be.  They were supposed to be a light blueish grey, but when they arrived (about 5 years ago), our house was still under construction.  So they went into storage for a bit still boxed up, and by the time I discovered the mix-up, it was too late.  So we lived with them (for a few years, LOL) but always knew we’d swap them out at some point, and recently we finally did.  When I found these nightstands on Walmart.com, I ordered them that day.  The size is perfect for our space; shipping was super quick; they’re under $200 each; and the quality is so good.  (Much better quality than the teal ones that cost way more.  Score.)

With the teal tables out of the way, I figured we could now do any color scheme in here, so I went with neutral taupe, LOL.  Honestly, I was looking forward to getting all or most of the color out of this room.  We are not duvet people, never have been.  I run hot and Eric is always cold at night, so we do two layers of quilts and it’s just what works for us.  (This coverlet is perfect solo in the summertime and then as a base layer in the winter.)  When I got in this new taupe quilt set, I knew it was perfect for us.  It’s a thicker fabric that doesn’t get all wrinkled and disheveled (two things that drive me NUTS), and it’s really comfy for sleeping.

I then ordered some fun, textured throw pillows, a couple of cozy throw blankets, and some new fashion coffee table books for styling my nightstand.  Oh, and the coziest little shag dog bed that these spoiled pups love.  I love how it turned out – take a scroll below for a closer look at some of the pieces I grabbed from Walmart.com.

I’ve been posting lots lately about my love of all things fall, and while it’s really still too early to pull out the sweaters and boots and fall fashion things I want to wear, it’s never too early (in my book) to get the house autumn-ready.  Our dining room has always been my favorite room of the house to decorate for any season or holiday, and this year, I wanted to switch things up for fall, starting with our dishes.

We host friends and family for dinner a lot this time of year, so I knew I wanted dishes that would be pretty but also very functional.  When I saw this matte black set from Gap for Walmart, I loved the idea to incorporate some of the black from the rug, and once I received the dishes, I loved them even more.  They are sturdy, on the heavier side, and look so much more expensive in person than they actually are.  They’re also microwave and dishwasher safe, and having used them a few times and run them through the dishwasher, I can say they come out streak-free and just like new.  (I also think they will be so pretty during Christmastime.)

For everything else for our fall tablescape, I hit the Wow & Now section on Walmart.com.  Have you guys checked this section out?  It’s filled with fun, on-trend items to get your home ready for the season.  From the Wow & Now section, I snagged the table runner (not always easy to find them over 100 inches long), the faux flowers (that are arranged in the handle-free mugs included with the dishes), the leaf garland on our sideboard, and the matte gold flatware.  You guys, this flatware.  It comes in gold, rose gold, or black with options of matte or mirrored finish for each, and honestly, they all look so pretty.  I’ve wanted gold flatware for a while, so I couldn’t pass these up, and just like the dishes, they came out of the dishwasher looking just like new.

Switching things up this season has been so much fun, and I LOVE the way it turned out.  If you’re looking for a few new touches to get your home ready for fall, head over to this Wow & Now page or scroll below for some of my favorite finds of the season.

Favorite Fall Fashion Finds from Walmart

September 1st, and just like that, my brain has made the switch, and I can’t stop thinking about all things fall fashion.  (Never mind that our weather isn’t quite there yet – that’s never stopped me before. 🙂  So today I’m kicking things off with some favorite fall finds from Walmart, and their fall fashion options are GOOD.

While sneakers are probably not going anywhere anytime soon in my wardrobe, I’m pretty excited to get back into boots and booties for fall.  The pair I’m wearing above is seriously great quality and couldn’t be more comfortable – they actually have a memory foam lining inside that is SO cushy.  I’ll definitely be wearing these throughout the season with dresses, faux leather shorts, and skinny jeans, which are still A-OK in my book.  Speaking of skinnies, this coated pair above fits SO well and is priced around $10.

I spent lots of last fall kicking it in sweats and loungewear, but this year I’m excited for all the comfy, relaxed denim options.  (LOVE the pair below –  so comfy and flattering.)  They’ll be so cute with cozy sweaters in a couple of months, but for now, I’m loving them with easy graphic tees and a lightweight fall layer for cooler nights.  (You can snag the plaid shirt jacket I’m wearing here.)

And because you know I couldn’t narrow my favorites down to just two outfits, stay tuned this week – I’ll be sharing more fall finds from Walmart that you won’t want to miss.

Embrace Your Curves Swimwear at Walmart

If you’ve been following along here for a while, you know that I’ve talked about the swimsuit struggle quite a bit over the years.  I’m busty.  And have curves.  And was shocked as hell for years how hard it was to find a swimsuit that actually fit.  The dressing room diary of a girl trying on suit after suit and leaving empty handed is a frustrating book to say the least.  I knew that I wasn’t alone in the struggle, but I just couldn’t understand why companies couldn’t make bikini tops in bigger cuts or one-pieces that were actually supportive.

A couple of years ago I discovered Miracle Brands swimsuits and became a big fan.  The silhouettes are sleek, the fabric sucks you in, and I loved that there was hidden underwire in the suits to help support the girls.  I’ve been wearing them summer after summer, and this year, there’s a whole new line to love.  Miracle Brands has just released their Embrace Your Curves swim line at (my fave place, you guessed it…) Walmart, and it’s so good.  It’s everything I’ve loved from Miracle Brands over the years at a price point that is so affordable.  The fabrics still feel so luxe, the cuts are simple and flattering, and some of the suits have that hidden underwire that makes them so supportive.  (But if you’re not a fan of the underwire, don’t worry, there are suits like the floral one above without it that are still supportive.)

So today I’m sharing three of my favorite suits from the Embrace Your Curves line.  If you’ve ever wanted to try out one of the Miracle suits, now is the time to snag one of these because some sizes are already selling out.  There’s no time like now to #EmbraceYourCurves and enjoy your summer.  Happy almost weekend, friends!

New Fall Favorites from Scoop at Walmart

If you’ve been following along here for a bit, you KNOW I love a good Walmart find.  Over the past couple of years I’ve found and purchased all of our backyard patio furniture (updated version here), a favorite candle, the giant mirror in my office, and tons of clothing goodies at Walmart.

And when it comes to clothing, it doesn’t get any cuter than the Scoop collection.  A few favorite finds include this wrap dress, the cutest summer caftan, an adorable leopard sweater dress, this little holiday number, and ALL the cozy sweaters.  (My favorite sweater is back this year in four colors, soft as ever, and under $30.)

Scoop’s latest collection to drop might just be my favorite so far, so today I’m rounding up a bunch of fall pieces that I snagged.  You seriously can’t go wrong with the sweaters, and a few of the dresses remind me so much of Free People styles for less than half the FP price tag.  (I mean, how much does the snake print dress below remind you of this Free People dress that I wore last season?  I actually prefer the Scoop version though because it’s lined and has a better length.)

Now that I’ve got half of my fall wardrobe figured out, I’ll just be over here waiting for the weather to wear it.  Hope everyone has a great rest of their week!

Activewear Refresh from Walmart

You guys, I said I’d never do it.  I said I’d never do the bike short thing.  And yet, here we are.  I’ve been making sure to get in some sort of workout (almost) every day of quarantine, so when the weather changed from chilly sweatpants temps to warmer days, I knew I needed a little activewear slash loungewear refresh.  My first stop to shop?  You guys know I’ve been finding so many gems at Walmart over the last few seasons, and this time was no different.

When it comes to activewear basics, you really can’t go wrong with this line at Walmart.  I wear the running shorts all the time (how cute are these??), love these basic tanks, and wear this jacket almost nightly to walk the pups.  On a whim, I added on a two-pack of these bike shorts to my order, and I’m not gonna lie, for working out or walking with the pups, I’m kind of digging them.  (And if you’re looking to test out the trend for yourself, you really can’t go wrong with a two-pack for $15.)  I sized down to a small and love the fit and feel.

These sneakers have been in and out of stock a couple of times because they’re just so cute, and I can now say that they’re just as comfy as they are cute.  (Hello, memory foam footbed.)  And then I came across this quilted bag from Scoop and couldn’t resist.  Do I need a new duffle bag right now?  Well probably not, but this one is just such a good size for when our gyms open back up.  (Soon, very soon, friends!)

Until then, I’ll just keep getting in my workouts outside and in my own living room.  (And is there any better motivation than fresh workout gear?)

Well, the current SoCal weather has definitely taken a turn from spring sunshine to more “spring showers” vibes, but today we’re channeling sunny days ahead.  Let’s talk spring fashion trends, shall we?  Today I’m excited to partner with Walmart where you can snag every piece you see here.  (And with Walmart’s fast and free shipping, you can have it in your hands in no time.)

Tie-dye has been back in the spotlight for a bit now, and it’s going to be sticking around for spring.  Walmart has a bunch of adorable options, but I couldn’t resist the tie-dye chambray shirt above.  It’s super soft, and I love it left open over a tank (or swimsuit) or buttoned up and knotted.  (It also comes in this cute dress version.) The white shorts are super comfy, and I seriously couldn’t love the straw bag more for spring and summer.  Remember the navy version from last year?  I was pretty bummed when I accidentally left it in a hotel last summer, so I was thrilled to find it back in stock in new colors this year.

Safari style is also making an appearance this spring, and I’m 100% here for it.  Think utility details, boho accessories, and animal prints.  The green utility pants below fit SO well.  I love the exaggerated pockets, distressing at the knee, and comfortable high rise.  I styled them with two different knit tops because I seriously couldn’t decide.  (If you’re looking for well-made tees, Walmart has a ton right now.  The striped one below looks and feels so much more expensive than it actually is.)  The little 3-in-1 handbag comes in a bunch of colors, and the sandals will be a staple all spring and summer long.

I’d also be crazy if I didn’t mention the activewear section.  Y’all, if you are looking for a little spring workout wardrobe refresh, look no further than Walmart.  I posted some of my faves here on LiketoKnow.it.  We’re talking cute running shorts that are $14 for a pack of two, adorable tops and jackets, and fun sneakers for $10.

Here’s hoping everyone has a great weekend ahead, and happy spring shopping!

New Holiday Collection from Scoop NYC (at Walmart!)

It’s the MOST wonderful tiiiiime… It may be a little early for some, but for me, holiday season and my favorite time of year kick off as soon as November rolls around.  It’s my birthday month, the weather is finally getting cooler around here, it’s sweatpants season (here’s looking at you, Thanksgiving), and it’s time to start thinking about all those upcoming holiday parties.

Our little Wilma girl is currently on the mend from spay surgery, so I’ve had plenty of time over the last couple of days to catch up on some overdue work online shopping.  (Birthday month – treat yo’self, right?)  Fast forward to me spending WAY too much time scrolling around the brand new holiday collection from Scoop at Walmart.

Remember this little Scoop dress and this cozy sweater?  I’ve been a fan of the brand since they reemerged a month or two ago, but this holiday collection is seriously on another level.  I snagged a couple of knit leopard pieces (here and here), this fun little dress, this cozy boyfriend cardigan, and this adorable loungewear sweatshirt and jogger duo that I think is perfect for holiday travel.  I also had almost every single sequin piece in my cart until I remembered that my life in general isn’t very dressy and neither are the holiday parties we attend.  But the dressy pieces are just SO good!

Rounding up some additional favorites below, and if you fancy any, I’d recommend grabbing them as sizes tend to sell out fast.  (As I haven’t received my order yet, I can’t really speak to the sizing, but when in doubt, I order two sizes because returns are easy and free.)  Hoping you guys find some things you love!

25+ Athleisure Pieces to Love from Walmart

Happy Friday, friends!  You guys, remember this little black leopard set that I shared on Instagram a few weeks ago?  It’s seriously the comfiest little cozy two-piece that looks so much like a more expensive set.  While you can still snag the sweatshirt here, the pants sold out SO fast.  BUM-MER.  I’ve heard from so many of you that you missed out on this set before the joggers sold out, so today I’m rounding up a slew of budget-friendly athleisure pieces from Walmart.

This Sweet Romeo line (the same as the leopard set above) has SO many great pieces, and the quality is really good.  I’m loving these star-printed joggers (on sale for $13!) paired with this star-printed dolman top.  Or this thumbhole pullover that looks seriously dreamy.  If budget-friendly loungewear is on your wishlist for fall, click through below for some of my favorite affordable finds.
