There’s no doubt that my favorite sneakers got a whole lotta use this past summer, and I’m suspecting a similar story this fall.  And while my white Golden Goose were a fave over the summer months, lately I’ve been grabbing the two (way more affordable) pairs here nonstop.

The leopard pair above is seriously so nice for the price – they’re under $40.  It’s a good, non-cheesy leopard print, and I love the glitter detail.  (I traded out the beige laces for these fun metallics.)  They’re also super comfy and now come in a second metallic version that I wish was still available in my size.  (The leopard is still fully stocked, but if your size is still available in this pair, lucky you!)

And as for the pair below, I seriously can’t stop wearing them.  I’m gonna go ahead and say it – I think they are the comfiest pair I own.  Like, more comfy than the Golden Goose, more comfy than my favorite pair of Nikes.  They have a slight hidden wedge inside that is just so cushy.  They come in a ton of colors, but I really do love the black and metallic combo below.  I’ve worn them with dresses, jeans, and even with this metallic midi skirt.  (They’ll also be so cute with my favorite leather leggings too.)

So whether you’re a seasoned sneaker lover or someone looking to try out the trend, take a scroll below for some of my favorites right now.

25 Athletic Sneakers I’m Loving Right Now

Leopard Adidas sneakers | My Style Diaries blogger Nikki Prendergast Adidas sneakers

In the spirit of sticking with some new year’s fitness goals around here, I figured what better motivation than a little activewear refresh.  I’ve been testing and trying lots of leggings to share with you guys soon, but I also decided on a couple of fresh pairs of sneakers for this season’s workouts.  I posted the super comfy leopard pair above in my stories this week, and you guys were definitely interested so I thought today I’d share a few more athletic sneaks that I’m loving right now.

Anyone else upping their workout game this year?  So far, minus the muscle soreness, I’m actually really loving it.

25 Affordable Summer Sneakers

Blame it on the lack of pedicures during quarantine (finally fixed that yesterday!) or the fact that I’m ALL about comfort these days, but lately (when I’m not wearing slippers) I just can’t get enough sneakers.  (But really, what’s new?)  I used to be a sandals-only girl during the summer months, but right now I’m wearing sneakers with jeans, dresses, shorts, and easy t-shirt dresses like the one above.  There are so many cute and affordable pairs available right now – scroll below for some of my favorites.

Blame it on the up and down daily temps or the fact that these days I’m not looking to be anything but comfy, but if you’ve seen me out and about over the last few weeks, there’s a good chance I was wearing sneakers.  Sneakers all day, every single day.  And can I help it that my new obsession just happens to be every damn where this fall, calling my name from every website and storefront I shop?  No, no, I cannot.

And I am not mad at it.  I’ve been hooked on the sneaker trend for a few seasons now – with jeans, dresses, skirts, leggings, all of the outfits.  And this fall, I feel like there are SO many great, affordable sneakers to be snagged.  (Because yes, I do splurge on handbags, but I just cannot pull the trigger on those very popular $500+ sneakers.)  So today I’m rounding up some of my favorite fall sneaks for under $100 – just click through below.  Which ones are you currently eyeing?

It’s finally officially summer, and while sandal season is normally my main jam, this year I can’t get enough sneakers.  Seriously, it’s a problem.  It all started with this pair in the fall (that I’m still obsessed with) and rolled into winter with these shearling kicks and this cozy fur-lined pair.  Fast forward to summer and I’m still firmly on the sneaker train.

They’re just so versatile and easy with jeans, denim shorts, and flowy dresses.  And while, sure, I agree that Golden Goose makes a pretty cute shoe, let’s be real.  $500+ for sneakers?!  I can justify a lot of purchases (ahem, handbag obsession), but I just can’t justify that.  So today I’m rounding up a slew of sneaks to keep you bopping through summer comfortably without breaking the bank.  Which ones are your favorites?

Spring Sneakers + Life Lately

And just like that, it’s the middle of May.  I saw a meme somewhere recently that adulting is just repeatedly freaking out over what day slash month we’re in now and how in the world we got there.  Well consider me an adult I suppose because here we are.  It’s been a couple of weeks since I checked in here, so apologies from one bad blogger!  Life has been crazy busy around here lately, but I’m not complaining.

For starters, the Airbnb Hostess gig has been pretty wild.  Our calendar is packed, and the inquiries keep rolling in.  There have been ups and downs for sure and some learning happening on my end, but for the most part it’s been a wild, fun ride.  We actually had a last-minute cancellation for Mother’s Day, so we were able to host Eric’s family on Balboa Island this past Sunday which was so much fun.  But here’s hoping the momentum keeps going with those summer bookings coming in.

This week is also a pretty crazy one work-wise for Eric.  He’s finishing up a big project and realized that he really needs to spend a ton of time on the job site in Beverly Hills this week and next.  So we packed up the pups and are spending a few nights posted up in a hotel in the area so that Eric is just a short drive from the site.  I may head back and forth a couple of times, but for the most part, we just like to start and end our days together.  Pups included 🙂

So blame it on my newfound hotel life this week (complete with about 30 treks downstairs with the pups each day for bathroom breaks), but this bad blogger finally had a chance to get a new blog post up.  Or maybe we’ll just blame it on these new spring sneakers that I couldn’t wait to share.  Like, loving them mucho.  They’re perforated with a touch of leopard calfhair and the perfect little pop of red.  With spring dresses, denim cutoffs, and even white skinnies – I’m obsessed.

Bonus points that they’re so dang comfortable, especially with these spoiled pups, living their best hotel life and loving nothing more than prancing all over Beverly Hills all day.  Should be a couple of interesting weeks ahead for sure!  Here’s hoping you guys have a good one.

Graphic Tees, Sneakers, and Jeans: My Fall Uniform

Last week I declared my love for sneakers this time of year, and today, well, I guess I’m further proving it.  I picked up these sneakers on major sale before a recent wine-tasting trip and have been wearing the heck out of them since.  They are so lightweight and breathable, super comfy, and the perfect match for my recent jeans and tee uniform.  (I know, I know – I said I would never be down the the camo trend, but I think after all these years, I’ve finally changed my mind.  And these, I couldn’t resist.)

I’m a sucker for a good graphic tee, but I’m especially loving the oversized, slightly longer fit of this Bowie one.  (It also comes in two other prints and colors.)  It’s perfect for a front-tuck with jeans and is also long enough for me to wear over my favorite faux leather leggings.  I’d say that’s a serious win for this creature of comfort.  Just add distressed denim and a teddy jacket – you can find some of my favorites here.

And now to tackle this extra Monday-ish Monday.  Eric and I got home last last night from a dreamy weekend trip to Tennessee, and I’m guessing it’s time to rejoin the real world.  Today will be a day of unpacking, laundry, and so many errands, but stay tuned for lots more Tennessee snaps and the reason we headed out to Knoxville in the first place.  Hope everyone has a great week ahead!

Happy Friday, friends!  We made it to the weekend, finally.  Last night Eric and I drove to Palm Springs for the second weekend of Modernism Week, and we’re so excited to take in a little home inspiration on the Moroccan Modern tour tomorrow.  We experienced our first taste of Modernism Week back in the fall and loved getting to tour some of the fabulous homes around us.  Admittedly we wanted to do more tours this time around, but we had family in town last week – so there’s always next season.

Tours or no tours, Palm Springs is always my happy place, and I’m so excited for the weekend and week ahead.  On Sunday, I’m trading out the husband and a couple of our friends for some of my best gals and a fun little girls’ week.  We planned for lots of sun, warm weather, and possibly pool time, but y’all – it’s cold here!  It’s definitely colder this weekend than it was for New Year’s Eve in the desert, but hey, I’m not complaining.  Just don’t be alarmed if you see me out and about in some type of pool kaftan topped with a winter coat – I have NO idea why my closet and suitcase here are filled with randomness.

One thing that did make the trip?  This denim jacket that I’ve worn a TON recently (last seen here).  It’s such an easy, versatile piece, and I love it over a comfy striped dress.  Also making the trip?  These leopard sneakers that get so much attention everywhere they go.  They look exactly like a leopard pair from this brand, but for a fraction of the price.  (Because I’m not about to spend anywhere near $400-500 on a pair of sneakers.  Just no.)

But a big, fat YES to the weekend ahead, and wishing everyone a good one!

If you’ve been following along the last few weeks, you know that I’ve become a little sneaker-obsessed.  With dresses, jeans, leggings, you name it, I’m all about the comfy kicks these days and can’t get enough of the whole athleisure trend.  Slow clap for whoever kicked off the athleisure trend, by the way – cheers to you, friend.  Admittedly though, all of my sneaker choices lately have been a little more fashion than function.  They’re my go-to picks for running errands around town (or, more honestly, for doing anything), but I surely won’t be doing anything sporty in them.

But a few weeks into my sneaker kick, I’ve finally found the best of both worlds with these Puma Rebel Slip-Ons.  (Also love these Black Swan inspired color options.)  They’re lace-free, which I think is just a bit sleeker when paired with jeans.  They slip on and off easily, and y’all, they are beyond comfortable.  So comfortable that last week I actually walked about eight miles in them.  Seriously.  The soles are so cushy that they’ve easily replaced my usual walking shoes.  I mean, who knew?  A lace-free, slip-on athletic shoe.  I’m sold.

Today’s look is one of my easiest athleisure outfits for everyday.  I live in distressed denim and sneakers and dress it up a bit with minimal jewelry and a sleek crossbody.  If you’re looking for a pair of sneakers that will take you from the actual gym to the rest of your day, I can’t recommend these more.  Promise, your feet will thank you.

Jeans and Sneakers

I’ll be the first to admit it: I never really was that “jeans and sneakers” girl.  Seriously, never.  I grew up in Louisiana sweating out the summers like I was in a perpetual steam room and spending the fall and spring (mostly) in a school uniform.  I had a couple of pairs of jeans, but mainly for the weekends, denim skirts were THE thing.  That, or Soffe shorts.  Was that a thing for everyone else?  Because I just looked them up and found out that you can now get some colors for $1.  My high school self would have gone nuts – gimme ALL of the colors!

Fast forward to today, and I can’t get enough of jeans and sneakers.  (The mild California seasons certainly help with that.)  So much so that I found myself looking around our room at the rental house this week asking where in the hell did all these sneakers come from.  Certainly, someone else must have brought all of these in here, but nope.  It was me.

Recently I headed in to DSW to get my hands on these wedges (the look-alike dupes of one of the season’s most popular shoes) and somehow found myself roaming around three long-ass aisles of sneakers.  I don’t even know how many pairs I tried on that day, but somehow my wedge-shopping day turned into the day I came home with two pairs of sneakers.  Don’t judge me.

I’ve since worn these Nikes along with the other pair I bought that day SO. MANY. TIMES. and regret them zero.  They really seem to fit my construction zone life these days, no?  Anywho, I can’t recommend them enough, and paired with distressed denim (this pair is currently 40% off!), I’m weekend ready and zooming right through this Friday.  Suddenly, I’m totally one of those “jeans and sneakers” gals, and I’ll tell ya, it is not bad at all.  Hope everyone has an amazing weekend ahead!
