Happy Friday, everyone!  Today’s post is a smidge late because I never could get the wifi situation working in my hotel room this morning.  I actually used it as an excuse to watch an episode of Kelly & Michael and found myself wondering why I don’t watch it daily.  Probably because my productivity level would plummet and I’d dedicate myself to watching TV on the couch in my pajamas all day and… Ain’t nobody got time for that.  But anywho, I’m back from San Diego and back on the blog in a look that was just made for weekends.  I’ve never really been a “flats” girl.  I wear flat boots and flat sandals all the time, but a pair of closed-in ballet flats were never my jam.  This loafer style from Yosi Samra though is my new exception to the rule.  They are crazy comfortable and look great with pretty much anything, including my new favorite cropped sweater that I’ve worn for too many days in a row recently.  (I unfortunately can’t find it online anywhere, but you’ll be the first to know when I hunt this sucker down.)  So here we are, people: weekend at last.  What are you gonna do with it?

xoxo

So I’m a couple days late, but I woke up this morning thinking, “Holy moly, it’s August? How did this happen?”  I have no idea where the summer has gone, but I fully intend to take advantage of as many beach days as I can for the rest of it.  There’s just no better way to spend the hot days here than relaxing and zoning out by the ocean, and at the end of the day, the sun kissed skin and hair are definite bonuses.  But about that sun kissed hair…  While I love the lightening effects of a day in the sun and the natural waves created by the salt air, I do try to avoid all of the hair damage that goes along with a day at the beach.  As a natural (Mmm, and sometimes not so natural) blonde, I put my hair through enough daily torture.

Recently, I had the chance to check out the Target Beauty Box.  Have you guys heard of it?  It’s not another subscription service, so don’t tune out just yet.  It’s a box of goodies (some full-sized and some deluxe sample sized) for a serious steal – $7 to be exact.  Five bucks and no month after month commitment?  I’m in.  In this month’s box, I was so excited to try out the two hair products below.  The Fekkai Pre-Soleil Hair Protection Mist helps minimize color fade and dehydration while providing a healthy, sun-kissed shine.  Plus, it just smells amazing.  I spritzed it all over my hair before heading out to the beach.  After a day in the sun, infuse a little extra moisture into hair with Clairol’s Hair Food Mask.  It’s thick and rich and made my hair feel so soft.  The two are a total steal in the Beauty Box, and for $5, you really can’t go wrong.  So here’s to an endless summer and a shiny, beautiful mane.  (Who wouldn’t get behind that?)

xoxo
