Happy Friday, friends!  Things have been a smidge quiet over here on the blog this week because, well, New York Fashion Week.  Yesterday officially kicked off day one for me here, and I’m thinking we pretty much squeezed as much into a day as possible, in the best possible way.  We’re really trying this season not to make ourselves crazy running around the city and instead attend the events and shows that we really want to see and meet with the brands and friends that we can.  And so far, so good.  But hey, it’s only day two around here.

Yesterday we kicked things off by attending the Noon by Noor show (in this look that’s coming up on the blog soon) followed by lunch and lots of gab with the Julie Vos team.  Y’all, the new pieces are LEGIT so good, and I about died over all of the new pendants.  I wear my favorite Julie Vos Elephant Pendant ALL the time, so I’m super excited that there are now more options in rotation.  Hello, Petite Siena Pendant.  After lunch I decided to change clothes on account of the swampy, sweaty, humid scorcher that is New York City currently.  I mean, I was trying to dress for fall, and it totally backfired in the overheated hot-and-bothered department.

Onto jean shorts, the softest striped tee (that’s under $11!), and the knit blazer that I think everyone needs in their closet.  (And that yes, I eventually had to remove.)  It’s seriously the easiest, softest knit blazer that works just as well over a dress as it does with your favorite denim cutoffs.  Heat stroke averted, we checked out the Marissa Webb show, popped by the GiGi New York pop-up shop, noshed on burgers, pasta and fries with the GiGi gals, and ended our evening with laptop and wine time back in our rooms at The Evelyn.  Our rooms here are probably the most spacious I’ve seen in New York, and it’s so nice to be able to stretch out a bit.  Plus, I’ve totally been taking advantage of the bathtub here that my house in California currently lacks.  (I mean, I’m Southern – a girl’s gotta have a bathtub.)  So with all this rambling about a knit blazer and a bathtub, I’m saying that day one of #NYFW and our home away from home has been A+ in my book.  Here’s hoping your weekend is pretty A+ as well.  Cheers, y’all!

xoxo
