And the home remodel slash decorating bonanza crawls on…  Our master bedroom was pretty much the last room in the house that I started on because the walls, ceiling, and floors were done last, and once I got to it, I was kind of pooped from the rest of the house.  I told Eric that I didn’t think I could pick out one more rug.  Seems dramatic, but if you start to look around at the area rugs on the interwebs, you’ll find a TON of similar duplicates.  I found myself reverting back to the old eeny, meeny, miny, moe method.  (Works every time.)  So for the master bedroom, I’m super excited that I got to team up with Havenly for the whole design.  That means someone else got to pick out the rug and pretty much everything else, but more on the design process later.  The room is still waiting on a few final touches – closet doors, a tiny wall repair, wall art, and an upholstered bench that took six weeks to be delivered only to march right back out the door with a stain on it – but the one thing that is done and happily put together is the master bedroom bedding.  And what a difference that makes.

When we moved into this house, our bed and dresser (the only bedroom furniture that could fit into the tiny bedroom of our last house) went into the guest bedroom, so we pretty much started from scratch in the master.  Our first priority was the bed, and we ordered that before we started working with Havenly.  We TOTALLY scored on a great mattress because Eric’s company builds for a well-known mattress company.  Then came the master bedroom bedding, and since we’d been purging all of our Ikea furniture from college around the house, it only seemed appropriate that it was time for some nice, grown-up bedding.  Similar to the guest bedroom, I knew I wanted all white, and I found the perfect (for us) duvet, embroidered duvet cover, and matching shams at Bed Bath & Beyond.  It’s the best blank slate for a few pillows (which were all found at Steinmart), and I love that it stays pretty wrinkle-free.  I never ever thought I’d say this, but it’s the type of master bedroom bedding that makes you actually want to make your bed in the morning.  So grown up, right?  Something like that.  Stay tuned for a full master bedroom reveal coming up…just as soon as she’s ready.

xoxo
