Cool Summer Layers

I’ve never been much of a linen-wearer.  Overall it isn’t that appealing to me, and the wrinkles give me a conniption.  This pair caught my eye though because the fit is super easy, and surprisingly, so is the bright coral-ish color.  As an added bonus, they’re a linen-blend, which means they’re really soft, and the wrinkles are slightly under control.  I guess these make me a linen convert.  (Next step?  Full-on linen leisure suit, a la Palm Springs retirement community.  Stay tuned.)  Additionally, I owe a certain chambray addiction to Old Navy, and this dark version above is the latest addition.  Worn open over an easy white tee, it’s an ultra-lightweight summer staple that goes just as well with white skinnies or a printed maxi skirt.  Sandals and a couple of straw accessories completed the warm weather look.

With summer just kicking into full swing here, I’ll definitely be scooping up a couple more pairs of these easy (and beyond affordable) shorts as part of my “August beat the heat” plan.  (This striped pair actually already made it home with me, and I’m thinking this printed pair ($10!) is next.)  Which summer shorts do you currently have your eye on?

xoxo
