Swim Style

In high school and college there were two little words that could always make me smile: spring break.  It was one week of no school, no studying, no worries in general besides SPF.  Whether it was spent on a beach with friends or laying on a lawn chair in my own backyard, spring break was definitely a little something to look forward to every new year.  The preparation was half the fun.  Of course you had to find the perfect swimsuit.  And cover-up.  And beach bag.  And every other thing you had to pack.  Now that I’m a “grownup” and don’t exactly get a spring break off from work, it’s so nice to live at the beach, and with random 80-degree weekends, spring break prep can start nice and early.

Living in Southern California I’ve learned that it takes more than a swimsuit or two to make it through the summer, and salt water isn’t exactly friendly on those very expensive bikinis.  Que Target.  With tons of tops and bottoms available for under $20, there’s no better time to stock up.  I’ve always loved Target for swimsuits because you’ll always have great options.  Mixing and matching different tops and bottoms keeps things fresh, so choose separates that can easily be switched around, or go for one of the looks below.  In ruffles, fringe, crochet or classic black, there’s bound to be a suit for every style.  And don’t forget the finishing touches: an easy cover-up (love the color-blocked option above), aviators and a great hat.  (Suddenly in my late 20s I’ve discovered the importance of a hat.  Blame a rogue forehead “wrinkle”.)  Whatever you choose, have a little fun and enjoy “spring break”!

I LOVE those sandals! I can’t wait for the weather to be warm enough for me to break out my sandals. Plus, it’ll be a good excuse to buy more! I’ve found some really fun and comfy sandals at GreatSandals.com lately. Check them out!
