Alloy Apparel skirt (c/o); CAbi blouse (c/o); Romwe bag (old, shop similar below); Nordstrom hat; Persol sunglasses (similar)
It's rare that I find a maxi skirt that I really love, but this one from Alloy really caught my eye. I love fall-ish taupe color and crinkled pleating, and it works just as well now with a sleeveless top as it will later with a cropped sweater. A fringed handbag and feather-embellished hat helped to complete the boho look. Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

Well I, for one, am ready for fall. Like really, really ready. Unfortunately, Mother Nature here in Southern California is not on the same page. (As in, two 88+ degree forecasts this week. Get it together, October.) So for now I'm sticking with lightweight dresses and such that can be paired with jackets at sundown, and this one from Emploi New York's resort collection is a whole lotta fun when paired with black extras and a bold, pink lip. (Also, check out the rest of their resort threads here.) Now thanks to Emploi, I'm giving one of these dresses away to one lucky reader. Simply click away at the options below. Good luck!
CAbi blouse (c/o); CAbi skirt (c/o); JustFab bag (c/o); Halogen heels (also love these); Forever 21 sunglasses; bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in "Live Large"
I've never had a job with the typical nine-to-five office attire, but sometimes it's fun to dress the part. I love a good pencil skirt, and in burgundy lace, this one from CAbi is perfect for fall. Calf-hair leopard pumps create contrast, while a tucked black blouse and structured handbag add polish. If a buttoned-up dress code is part of your weekday routine, it's easy to get stuck in a boring rut, but adding in a few textured pieces for fall can really change your options. Hope everyone has a great week!

For the past year or so, I've been addicted to gel manicures. Chipped polish drives me nuts, and I love that the gel lasts through anything: a day at the beach, washing dishes, shower after shower. What I don't like is what my nails look like after removing the gel (so bad) and the fact that I actually have to go back to the salon to have it removed. Mainly though, I'm sure by now we've all heard that we should be wary of the UV light that we're exposing ourselves to during a gel manicure. It's questioned as a possible skin cancer risk, and really, is it worth it for a manicure? Probably not.
Enter Sally Hansen® Miracle Gel™, an amazing at-home alternative that provides the lasting effects of gel without the harmful UV light. You paint it on as you would any polish and finish with the Miracle Gel™ Top Coat, and that's it. You have a chip-free, high-shine manicure that lasts up to 14 days. And of course I wanted to share this with my friends. So recently I had a little pamper party, complete with Sally Hansen® Miracle Gel™ manicures and pedicures, a bloody mary bar, cheese and crackers, and a few magazines. My "Perfect Pair" manicure is a mix of "Bare Dare" (a creamy nude color) and "Game of Chromes" (a metallic gold). I'm loving the colors, and there's not a chip in sight.
Now, you can enter to win the top 10 shades of Sally Hansen® Miracle Gel™ so that you can check out the new formula and maybe even throw a little pamper party of your own. Head over here to see the rules and guidelines. Good luck!

Today I'm sharing one final look from New York Fashion Week, and this particular morning was a hot one. (From the looks of my friends' NYC Instagram snaps these days, I'd say I just missed out on some glorious fall weather on the East Coast.) After running around New York for a few days, Kathleen dragged me out of bed early on Saturday morning, and easy jeans and a tank were pretty much all I could muster. These coated, zippered skinnies are surprisingly so comfortable, and I know they will be in heavy rotation throughout the fall. Staple leopard pumps, a sleek leather bag, and mirrored sunnies finished off the look. Hope everyone is having a great week - it's almost Friday!

In the spirit of pretending it feels like fall around here, I wanted to layer up a bit without jumping the gun on the temperature front. This perforated leather mini has been hiding in the back of my closet for a while now, and I was excited when I remembered it earlier this week. Paired with a silk blouse and short-sleeved sweatshirt, it's sort of an edgy take on a schoolgirl-inspired look. Peep-toe booties (that will be in heavy rotation this fall), a bold handbag, and a statement necklace added the finishing touches. Hope everyone is enjoying the first official days of fall!
P.S. - There's still time to enter the $500 Neiman Marcus giveaway, so don't miss out!

Oh, fall. It's definitely the season that gets me in the most shopping trouble, and for good reason. I'm obsessed with fall footwear and can't get enough ankle booties and over-the-knee boots this season. With the latter already taken care of for now (DYING for a little cool weather to break these out), today I'm rounding up a few favorite (splurge) booties to complete your fall looks. From flats for stomping around during the day to stilettos and wedges for a night out, there's a little something for everyone. (My current pick? Helloo, leopard stilettos.) And now for the best part: I'm teaming up with a few fabulous bloggers to give one lucky reader $500 to jump-start her fall wardrobe (without whipping out her wallet) at Neiman Marcus. Enter below for your chance to win. Oh, and because I just couldn't help myself, I've also rounded up a few favorite faux fur picks at the top of my list. Good luck, and happy shopping!

Because a heat wave counts as sweater weather, no? After a pre-fall leather skirt search, I picked up this little get-up a few weeks ago at H&M and instantly thought "New York." Fast forward to a sticky, 80+ degree morning in the Big Hot Apple, and a chunky sweater probably wasn't the best idea. But hey, "if you like it, wear it" is kind of my thought, and I liked it. And most of my destinations had air conditioning. So whatever. Today I'm off to Palm Springs for the weekend where the high is over 100 degrees and anything heavier than chiffon just won't do, but sometimes a weekend by the pool is just what the doctor ordered. Who's excited for Friday?! This girl!
If you could have only one beauty product in your makeup bag, what would it be? For me, hands-down, it would be concealer. Whether I'm hiding dark circles or blemishes, concealer is usually the one thing I'll put on during days when I'm wearing "no makeup." I've tried a ton of different brands, so today I'm rounding up six favorites that I think are totally worth checking out.
I really love all the new formulas that include an eye treatment and cooling effect for de-puffing the undereye area, and the first two on the list look and feel amazing on. (The bareMinerals version is a new discovery and recent favorite because I think it gives the same effect as the Marc Jacobs pen for about half the price.) For a budget find, the CoverGirl Trublend stick is great for on-the-go blemish covering. (I keep it in my bag.) If dark circles are your main concern, I love the "Stroke of Light" from bareMinerals or the Advanced Mineral formula. Both are light-reflecting and actually do brighten the undereye area noticeably. Finally for blemishes, I know there are a bunch of options out there, but (other than trying to go makeup free and never leaving the house) Benefit's Erase Paste has been my fall-back for years.
If I've missed any of your favorites, let me know! Always love hearing about different brands and formulas that readers love. Hope everyone is having a great week!

Today I'm sharing another look from New York Fashion Week. Although we all wanted to celebrate fall fashion and maybe rock a sweater or two, the truth of the matter is that New York was sweltering, with a heavy dose of humidity just for good measure. This little black dress from Lulu's was just about all the fabric I could muster for Friday's shows, and paired with an embellished belt and bow shoes, I liked that it was simple and chic. I brought along the leather jacket because the tents in stark comparison were an icebox zone. (Which I definitely did not mind.) Stay tuned for a couple more looks from Fashion Week coming up on the blog this week and next.
