Happy Thursday, friends!  Today I’m sharing one more room in our house, and it just so happens to be one of our favorites.  The dining room is making her debut on the blog, and right now she’s all dressed up for fall thanks to Stein Mart.  When we first bought the house, the dining room had some sort of sand slash concrete coating on the walls which may sound cool and rustic or something, but trust me, it was not.  After scraping, or chiseling really, that layer, we discovered floral wallpaper hiding underneath.  Just layers and layers of surprises!  Fast forward to today, and we’ve got bright white, smooth walls, the wood floors that we put throughout downstairs, and a window that lets in so much sunlight from the backyard.  (The windows in this house are probably what we can’t WAIT to change the most, but that’s a whole different project in the works.)  There’s nothing on the walls in this room yet because in just a few months, this room is moving.  I know.  The home remodel never ends, but we’ll eventually need this space when we redo the kitchen.  So the new dining room is extending into the backyard.  More on that MUCH later.

The dining room table and chairs belong to Eric’s aunt who lives out of state, so we’re holding onto them for a while.  They really are the perfect fit for this room, and if she ever wanted them back, I think we’d have to buy the same exact set.  At the first thought of fall, I couldn’t wait to get some fall decor into this room, and lucky for me, Stein Mart was PACKED full of fall really early in the season.  I found the table runner, dishes, placemats, napkins, centerpiece, the whole fall tablescape, so easily and for a total steal.  The placemats may be my favorite part because I think they’ll transition so well for Christmas decor.  We have two extra chairs in the room (that can be added to the table once the leaves are added in), so when I saw the sparkly turkey pillow, I was sold.  How cute?! The final touch was just a few mini pumpkins from the grocery store and the most beautiful “bronze” mums that I’m obsessed with.  (The guy at the grocery check-out said they looked dead to him, but I was like, no.)  Oh, and wine.  Obviously, I mean we are throwing a party here, aren’t we?  Now I love this room even more than before, and I’m already thinking of what I want to do in here for Christmas.  Hey, YOU look at all of this holiday decor and try to blame me.

xoxo
