After spending a solid twelve years of my life in a (private school mandated) knee-length plaid skirt, I'd say it's with good reason that the whole preppy thing is not a look I usually go for. Usually. But then I spent a little too much time browsing Madewell's tailored, prep-perfect site, and my inner Blair Waldorf couldn't get enough. I love the bold hues of this printed, pleated mini paired with this slim and sleek double-breasted blazer. Tone the look down slightly with a heavy dose of black: chunky scarf, warm tights, ankle boots and a crossbody bag. Finish with a few gold touches for an Upper Eastside meets the Countryside chic.
