Dear Diary,
I love your site and Twitter account! I recently purchased three pairs of colored jeans from Topshop, but I haven't a clue what to wear with them.  Shoes especially are proving hard to find due to not knowing what colors to put with them.  I bought a dirty raspberry color, a mint green and a light pink. Hope you can help!
- Shannon
Dear Shannon,
Thanks so much for writing in!  Colored denim seems to be everywhere for spring, and working them into your wardrobe can be hassle-free.  Remove the intimidation factor by thinking of your colored jeans the same as basic blues, only a little more fun, and make them compatible with almost any shoe by cuffing the hem.  Pair them with a fun floral top or printed blouse that is in the same color family, or choose a slouchy white tee and bright wedges, like in the look above.  Finish with a lightweight scarf, neutral handbag and gold jewelry.  For a laidback feel, try a black sweater and slip-on flats like the look below, and accessorize with easy black and silver pieces.  For ideas on styling your raspberry pair, stay tuned later this week.  Hope this helps!

Dear Diary,
I'll be attending an art walk in my coastal town in South Carolina with a male friend.  All of the art galleries in a historic downtown area will be staying open late and serving wine and cheeses to allow patrons to mingle with the artists as well as admire the works of art.  We will also be having dinner afterwards.  With the event falling on St. Patrick's Day, I'm at a loss for what to wear.  Any suggestions would be much appreciated.  Thank you!
- Taylor B.
Dear Taylor,
Sounds like a great night: wine, cheese, art, mysterious male friend.  Go for an easy girly vibe with this knit and crepe maxi dress in vibrant green and white.  Pair it with sandals (or comfortable wedges if you'd prefer) and a muted animal print scarf.  Finish off the look with silver jewelry and a neutral leather clutch.  If girly isn't really your thing, check out the slightly edgy look below.  Pair cuffed green skinnies with a loose tee and cropped leather jacket for an effortlessly cool look.  Add black ankle booties, a studded messenger and antique gold jewelry to complete the laidback feel.  Wishing you a Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Dear Diary,
I am attending a wedding in Palm Springs at the end of March.  I like to be comfortable, but I want to look classy and dressed up for the rehearsal dinner.  Any recommendations?  Thank you!
- Taylor
Dear Taylor,
We hear you: there's nothing worse than tugging on an uncomfortable dress all night while trying to celebrate a friend's special occasion.  For an easy chic and (keyword) comfortable look, try a short shift dress paired with unexpected accessories.  (A simple shift like the one above allows you to wear your favorite, non-torturous undergarments and leaves a little room for actual eating and perhaps post-dinner dancing.)  Create a color-blocked effect with striped wedges (read: comfort) in a bold violet hue.  Finish the look with a silver clutch and simple jewelry.  If the look above isn't really your thing, go for a vibrant maxi dress in a shape that lets you move like the look below.  Dress up the flowy maxi with statement jewelry, an oversized leather clutch and basic wedges.  Hope this helps!

Dear Diary,
I've been invited to New Orleans Fashion Week, and I've never been.  I'm really looking forward to it, but I have no idea what to wear.  Do people usually dress up?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!
- Katie
Dear Katie,
There's no better time than fashion week (regardless of the city) to dress up and show off your style, and if you're unsure of the dress code, it is always best to err on the side of overdressed.  Try a black maxi dress (like this Topshop version above that I recently purchased in New York for myself) paired with silver cage wedges and edgy silver jewelry.  Add a small dose of color with this muted blue suede clutch.  If you're feeling a bit more daring, check out the heart-printed jumpsuit below.  Amp up the look with an interesting blazer, orange wedges, and a contrasting print clutch.  (Just remember to keep the mixed prints in similar color families.)  Finish with gold chain-link bracelets and a statement ring.  Hope this helps!

Dear Diary,
My high school is having a winter formal, and the theme is "Fleet Night".  (Even though the dance has "formal" in the title, it really is pretty casual.)  I need some ideas for a cool, nautical-inspired outfit.  I hope you can help!
- Dacy
Dear Dacy,
Sounds like a fun night!  Whether you're aiming for a hint of nautical-inspiration or full-on, head to toe pinup style, stick with a basic color palette of navy, red and white with touches of gold and silver.  For an easy, casual look, try sailor-style wide leg denim paired with a striped boatneck top and red heels.  Finish with gold accessories.  Not quite what you had in mind?  Check out the dress or shorts-and-sweater combo below.  Hope this helps!

Dear Diary,
My friend is pregnant, and she's afraid that she will lose her amazing style as her stomach grows.  I keep telling her that she will look great, no matter what, but do you think you could put together a few outfits for a pregnant woman in different situations (work, dinner, date night, etc.)?  Thanks so much for your help!
- Chanel

Dinner:

Dear Chanel,
I have no doubt that dressing a growing bump can be tricky at best, but if she sticks to easy basics, she can still feel stylish and comfortable in her own skin.  Like the Citizens of Humanity skinnies above, so many denim companies are now offering their premium sought-after styles in maternity-friendly versions.  By investing in a great pair of maternity denim that she is comfortable wearing, her wardrobe will suddenly have many more options for getting dressed.  (For a slightly more affordable pair, check out the great styles available from Topshop.)  Paired with an oversized tunic, distressed boots, a contrasting clutch and simple gold jewelry, this look screams style instead of "I'm pregnant, and this is all that fits."  For easy weekend options (see below), stock up on leggings, jersey maxi skirts, cozy cardigans and layered knits (a la today's Inspiration, fellow preggo Hilary Duff).  For easy workday-wear, she may want to invest in a versatile black maternity pencil skirt and blazer combo, depending on her job.  Layer this stretch blazer over a tank, and add loafers, a great handbag and sleek gold accessories for a comfortable and professional look.  Hope this helps!
xoxo

Dear Diary,
I will be spending this weekend in Palm Springs with my boyfriend and his family.  On Saturday, we will be having a Bar-B-Que to celebrate his grandmother's birthday, and I want a look that is fun and appropriate.  Can you help?
- Michelle
Dear Michelle,
Go for a resortwear-inspired country club feel with this white drop waist shirtdress paired with these go-with-anything suede booties (that I currently can't get out of my head, first seen here).  Bring along a bright cardigan for the post-sunset chill, and add another pop of color with this fringed coral handbag.  Finish the look with muted gold jewelry and easy sunglasses for a fuss-free Palm Springs day.

Dear Diary,
I love accessorizing with bracelets and cuffs; however, my wrists are really small.  Most of the ones I find just fall halfway down my hand.  Do you have any suggestions of stylish bracelets that could work for me?
- Katie
Dear Katie,
Your best bet is to search for and layer on thin, cuff-style bangles that can be easily bent (further closing them) to accommodate thinner wrists.  If you've already (unsuccessfully) tried that option, look for styles with a buckle clasp like the CC Skye leather version above (bonus: embrace the neon trend!) or the adjustable cord versions above that can be pulled tighter for a smaller wrist.  Also, you may want to consider looking into higher-end children's accessories (like the Juicy Couture chain-link bracelet above) for smaller sizes and cheaper prices.  Hope this helps!
xoxo

P.S. - Stay tuned today as we will be announcing our next jewelry giveaway, including one of the bracelets above!

Dear Diary,
I was hoping for some style suggestions for an upcoming interview I have with a great airline!  I really want to stand out and look great. I was hoping to get some style tips on what I should wear for the big day.  Oh, and keep your fingers crossed for me, thanks!
- Jessyca
Dear Jessyca,
Congratulations on scoring the interview!  For any important meeting or interview, you can't go wrong with a well-tailored blazer and pencil skirt combo.  Keep the silhouette simple with a tucked-in tee under the blazer, and choose simple, black pumps or a Mary Jane style with a heel height that you are very comfortable walking in.  (After all, there's no need to add further stress on yourself with the fear of falling in wobbly heels.)  Keep jewelry to a minimum accept for a sleek, smart watch.  Stand out by adding pops of color in accessories like a skinny leather belt, portfolio clutch or patterned scarf, and for bonus points, choose a color associated with the airline.  It doesn't hurt if the interviewer can already picture you as part of the team!  Best of luck!

Dear Diary,
I'm going to a George Strait concert in a couple of weeks.  I definitely want to wear cowgirl boots, but I don't know what else to wear with them.  I'd like a cute and funky look to go with the boots.  Can you help?
- Leigh
Dear Leigh,
For a full-on country cutie look, pair your cowgirl boots (check out the adorable ankle pair above) with colored denim cut-offs and a chic plaid button-down.  Add antique gold jewelry, and throw your essentials in this hands-free fringed messenger.  For a toned down version of the look that can easily go from the concert to a night out, check out the adaptation below.  Western-inspired cowgirl boots are perfect for your upcoming country concert, but a neutral suede pair like the ankle booties below are more versatile and can easily be worn from now until spring.  Pair them with denim cutoffs (or skinny jeans if you prefer) and a loose and easy sweater for a casual, country feel.  Complete the look with a small messenger and an armful of beaded bracelets.  Whichever version you choose, make sure that you are comfortable and confident enough to "Boot Scootin' Boogie" the night away.  (OK, so that's not a George Straight song, but hey, I tried.)  Happy Friday, ya'll!
