If the middle of the week has your nine to five uniform feeling a little drab, give it a kick in the mouth with a little sporty spice.  A basic colorblocked pencil dress gets an instant update with a striped cotton blazer.  (Black and white is a huge trend for spring, and this blazer is so on point.)  Add peep-toe, ankle strap heels and a chunky menswear-inspired watch (by, gasp, Karl Lagerfeld!), and finish the look with unisex sunnies, an oversized clutch and a little bit of bling.  The bonus?  Every piece here will be an absolute wardrobe asset all spring and summer long.  Pair the blazer with a peplum tank and black skinnies - love the front zipper detailing on the Hudson pair below.  Throw on a statement necklace and ring and a bold handbag, and you're ready for a day of meetings or a night on the town.

Let's be real: who doesn't love to bypass their closet's stacks of tight-ass skinny jeans in favor of perfectly worn-in boyfriend jeans from time to time?  Sometimes, this girl just can't resist.  For a relaxed (not sloppy) weekend look, pair the comfortable denim with a colorblocked silk tee, bright flats and an oversized suede handbag.  Or, for a more dressed up feel, a fitted peplum jacket and leopard heels add polish and create an unexpected silhouette.  For both looks, aviators and sleek gold jewelry are the perfect finishing touches.  So, which would you prefer: relaxed or polished?  Hope everyone has a great weekend!

In general, I'm not much of a movie-watcher, so I never really got into the whole Netflix thing.  But a Netflix-style fashion company?  Now that's something I can really get into.  If you haven't already signed up for Le Tote, check out the details of their sweet little service here.  (It's perfect for those of us who, even with a closet full of clothes, never have anything to wear.)  My first "tote" arrived this week, and I was pretty into this colorblocked sheer top.  Whether dressed up with a ruffled skirt (this little beauty was also inside my Le Tote package), dressed down with leather track shorts, or worn somewhere in between with skinny jeans, this versatile blouse has tons of possibilities.  And the accessories?  Well, even for a bracelet junkie like myself, it's always nice to have a few fresh baubles to add to the usual mix.  Even better?  The simplicity of sending one tote back in exchange for another.  So this is what all those movie-watchers have been raving about for years.  Well done, Le Tote.  I dig it.

Add a bit of flare to your wardrobe with one of spring's flirty peplum tops.  Whether worn casual with light-colored denim and platform sandals or dressed up with a figure-flattering pencil skirt, this neutral top will become a staple for both your weekend-wear and nine-to-five uniform.  Whichever way you choose, finish with statement jewelry and a sleek clutch for a perfectly pulled-together look.

Whether paired with a neutral maxi skirt, sandals and a cute fedora for a bohemian vibe (like the look above) or balancing out raspberry skinny jeans and cutout booties for an edgy feel (see below, a continuation of Wednesday's post), a lightweight chambray shirt is a great addition to any spring wardrobe.  Try this simple and sweet version from Wallis loosely tucked into white jeans for a preppy spring look, or wear it with denim cut-offs for a fresh, bold approach.  Dressed up or staying casual, this is one closet staple you won't regret.

If you're missing out on California's crazy mild weather and are currently feeling the winter blues, add a shot of spring to your wardrobe with light-colored trouser jeans and layered pastel knits.  Accent with these sky-high snake-print oxfords and an adorable double-sided clutch (the other side is a great neutral grey), and complete the look with a stack of bangles and other touches of silver.  When spring finally rolls around, wear these versatile trousers with a lightweight blouse, platform sandals and gold jewelry, as shown below.

If you're trying to maximize your wardrobe while sticking to a budget, focus on well-made pieces that can transition from season to season, and then add trendy extras.  This ultra-soft, draped back jersey maxi dress from T by Alexander Wang looks perfect paired with a chunky cardigan and ankle booties now.  Finish the look with a leopard leather satchel and gold jewelry.  For an easy spring and summer transition, switch out ankle booties for comfortable gladiator sandals, and add a lightweight scarf.  A lime messenger bag brightens the look, while muted mixed metals jewelry and classic aviators add polish.

Few fall pieces have more versatility and lasting power than a pullover black sweater in a luxe material, and this modal/spandex version by Kain Label is no exception.  Worn with cuffed denim shorts, a bright satchel, over-the-knee socks and oxford heels, the dolman sleeve sweater has a classic preppy feel.  Muted gold jewelry provides a chic final touch.  Below, see three more lust-worthy looks from the same ultra-soft basic.
