I can't believe it's already New Year's Eve. We're headed to a friend's to ring in the new year, and although I love a heavy dose of sparkle for the evening, sometimes you just can't beat a well-cut LBD. I picked up this one in New York and have been waiting for a fun night to put it on. (What's better than a new dress that you kind of forgot that you had?) Today I can't help but reflect a bit on the past year, and even more, I can't help but feel so blessed and grateful. Thank you so much for all the love and support in 2013, and here's to an even better 2014! So cheers to you, my fabulous readers, and cheers to party dresses, bold lips, high heels, and even higher spirits. Happy New Year, everyone!
Looking back on all my posts from 2013, I can't believe how much this little blog has grown. Over the past year it's given me the chance to meet so many amazing people, travel a bit, and genuinely do what I love to do. I am so very thankful for all the brands and campaigns that have made My Style Diaries possible and mostly for you, the readers. Through your clicks, Tweets, "Likes", and votes (and votes and votes and more votes), you've helped me to grow so much, and I'm so excited for what's ahead in 2014. So cheers to you, and wishing you all a fabulous New Year!

I've always been a fan of one-shoulder dresses, and this silk little shift version from VAULT is no exception. It's a simple, no-fuss design, and I love the classic pleating at the shoulder. Paired with sleek nude heels, it's the perfect little number for a dressed-up Christmas or New Year's Eve. A couple of sparkly accessories (also scored from VAULT), a basic black clutch, and a red lip complete the look for an elegant, party-perfect feel.
If you've got New Year's Eve plans and nothing to wear, VAULT has a ton of options, from basic LBD's to all-out sparkle (loving these skirts, here and here). And don't forget about accessories! The jewelry section of VAULT seriously has something for everyone, and for an affordable dose of holiday sparkle, you can't go wrong with Kristin Perry Accessories. Well the holidays are upon us, so hoping everyone has a wonderful Christmas surrounded by family and friends.

Sometimes the best gifts are the ones you don't really want to spoil yourself with. As someone who loves clothes (and accessories...and shoes...and makeup...), I don't often treat myself to those wear-at-home pieces that don't make it out of the house. That said, I always enjoy getting those nice little at-home luxuries as gifts. A nice candle, cozy blanket, or toasty pair of slippers, and I'm one happy camper. Above are just a few indulgences that I think are perfect for the girl who could probably use a night in or lazy day anyway. (And for the record, I would totally buy these cute sweatpants, wear them with the awesome white tee and scarf, add a leather jacket and booties, and call it a day. Voila, house clothes out on the town.) So what hard-to-buy-for friends and family are still on your list?

Holiday season is in full swing, and so is my obsession with all things holiday style. I always kick off the season with a little jeweled this or a little sequined that, and by mid-December, jewels, studs, and sequins (oh, my!) are all I can think about. They're everywhere, and it seems that every dress, skirt, and clutch is better than the next. Recently while scrolling around the dress selection on VAULT, I spotted this studded sweater dress by Yuka Paris and immediately knew it was holiday perfection. While I don't need any help creating curves (especially during the holiday season), I think this dress would be perfect for the girl that does. The studs emphasize (or create) an hourglass and definitely dress up a basic black sweater dress. The sweater material itself is ultra-soft and so cozy. For colder weather, I'd love pairing this sweater dress with a simple coat (in pretty much any color), but unfortunately we've had a little warm spell lately. Basic black heels, a small leather bag, and a bold red lip are all you need to finish the holiday style. Hope everyone is having a great week and an even better holiday season!

Well, it's December 12th, and how's your holiday shopping going? I'm pretty much finished shopping for the boyfriend (the hardest person to buy for usually), and now there's just everyone else. Great. The good part is that it's mostly girls left on my list, and girls are always easier to shop for. The bad part is that it's mostly girls left on my list, and shopping for the girls in my life ultimately leads to shopping for myself. (Sad but true.) In any case, I've found that you can't go wrong with a little something sparkly, a sweet pair of shoes, a luxe bath product, or something that's just plain cute, so that's what I've rounded up from VAULT.
Over the past three months I've partnered with VAULT to show you some of my favorite brands and pieces from the site, and when it comes to holiday gifts, the possibilities are endless. In one quick swoop, you can grab gifts for him, gifts for her, goodies for the kids, and stocking stuffers for everyone, all with free shipping. Today I focused only on the ladies on your list and mainly took a spin through the accessories department because let's face it, I have an accessories problem. Whether she's bohemian (go with the fringe or beaded necklaces), sporty (the kicks), classic (love rings, leather bag or origami earrings), or all-out glam (the jeweled cuff, which is a super steal, by the way), there's something here for everyone on your list. (Even that co-worker in the office gift exchange or the husband's boss's wife or anyone in between.) Anyway, whether you're just getting started or heading for the finish line with your holiday shopping, VAULT is an easy spot to shop. And if you're looking for more ideas, head over tothe VAULT blog to find posts from other bloggers you'll love. Happy shopping!

These days, my brain is on all holiday dressing, all the time, and metallics are a natural go-to. For this look, a body-conscious gold tube skirt is the starting point. A neutral oversized sweater with a pastel pink coat give the bold skirt an unexpected twist. Keep the rest of the look minimal with a sleek pair of two-toned pumps, an embossed python clutch (obsessed with these personalized clutches from GiGi New York), and a couple of statement jewels. Whether you're headed to an after-hours office party or dinner and drinks with the girls, this look is festive and fun without veering over the top. Hope everyone is having a great week!

When it comes to holiday (and birthday) gifts, nothing rocks my socks more than a gift card to one of my favorite places, and the happiness level really goes through the roof when it's beauty-related. This season I'm so excited to partner with ULTA to round up a few favorite gifts for the beauty lover in your life (and let's be honest, a treat or two for yourself). I headed into ULTA recently armed with a gift card and quickly went beauty buck-wild. When I walked in, I was immediately distracted by a table of gift sets. Who can resist beauty gift sets packed to the brim with everything you "need"? Not me, sister, not me. Probably my biggest score of the day was this ULTA Beauty Box filled with 74 different products - 48 Eye Shadows, 3 Eye Primers, 6 Cream Eye Liners, 2 Dual Ended Eye Liners, 3 Brow Definers, 2 Mini Lip Gloss Shades, 2 Lipsticks, 6 Cheek Powders, 1 Shimmer Powder, 1 Bronzer - all for under $20. It's perfect for any makeup lover, from your little cousin who's just starting to dabble to the full-blown beauty junkie in your office. The Urban Decay palette is just as versatile, with a full range of colors that'll please any eye makeup aficionado.
After the gift set table sucked me in for longer than I care to admit, I cruised around looking for new lipsticks (which I need like a hole in my head, but hey, it's all about the gifting, right?). Swipes of 100 colors on my hand later, I came across this little duo from BareMinerals. It's the perfect little pink and berry combo, and the price is perfect for giving. In Southern California, a good bronzer or highlighter is pretty much a safe bet for anyone, and I love these two versions above. If makeup isn't really your thing (or, ahem, the people on your list), then perfume is always a welcomed little treat. If you know someone's preferred scent, then a bottle of their favorite is the clear way to go, but if you're unsure, I love the idea of surprising them with something new in the form of a rollerball or purse spray. It's a small investment that could lead to them finding a new favorite. Oh, and bonus, if you spend over $40 on any frangrance, you'll take home the coziest, yummiest robe for free. (To give or keep, up to you.) I left feeling like the happiest kid running out of the biggest candy store. If you're still feeling stuck for ideas, check out ULTA's holiday gift guide for the perfect gift for everyone on your list.
