Hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving! Despite being sick, I know I did.  Above are a few Instagram snaps (follow here!) of some of the fall fashion finds I'm most excited about.  Tons of sites are having great Black Friday sales today, including a few of my favorites above: LAmade, Gorjana, and C&C California.  What Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales are you most excited about?

Admittedly, I'm usually one of those people who overlooks Thanksgiving in favor of its much prettier sister holiday (Christmas, of course), but once Thanksgiving Day arrives, I'm always happily reminded of how blessed I am to be surrounded by such amazing family and friends.  This year I will be spending the holiday in California for the first time, and although I can't wait to see everyone back home in Louisiana next week, I'm so thankful to have a second family out here on the West Coast.  As far as clothing for Turkey Day goes, I've always found that pieces of the oversized variety are most appropriate, for obvious reasons, and this cashmere sweater dress from the Maison Martin Margiela for H&M collection does not disappoint.  Camel-toned extras (like these amazing boots, also pretty drool-worthy in red, here) and delicate gold jewelry add the perfect finishing touches for a comfortable and cozy, food-friendly look.  Wishing everyone a very happy Thanksgiving!

Cords: Cult of Individuality (c/o) EFGPR; Tee: (c/o) Aritzia (gift card); Cocoon cardi: Riller & Fount; Booties: DV by Dolce Vita; Clutch: H&M; Watch: Michael Kors; Bracelets: (c/o) Gorjana, Lorren Bell (c/o) Threadflip; Rings: (c/o) by boe, (c/o) Gorjana
Friday night we enjoyed a mellow night in with good wine and a hearty food coma's worth of Italian pasta.  With a much-welcomed fall chill in the air, I finally got to pull out these comfy cozy teal cords that I've been dying to break in and an oversized, soft-as-butter cocoon cardi.  For cold weather, there's just nothing better than a perfect pair of cords, and these will definitely be in heavy rotation this winter.  What are some of your cold weather essentials?

As the mounds of black sweaters piled high in my closet might reveal, I've got a little, well, habit, so I was excited to find this uber-soft white cable knit version with just the right amount of frumpiness on a recent (also habitual) trip to H&M.  Never mind that it isn't an actual color.  (That's what scarves and accessories are for, right?)  I loved the simplicity of pairing it with basic skinnies, classic leather boots and my new go-to black jacket, and a statement mint necklace added a smidge of color.  Just a smidge.  What are some fall fashion habits that you're looking to break?

My favorite time of year for wardrobe mixing and matching is definitely the hybrid period between summer's warmth and fall's chill where the only thing that seems to make sense is a cozy sweater paired with some sort of winter-friendly shorts.  This pull-on wool pair is the perfect companion to a cable-knit sweater and velvet infinity scarf.  Dress up the casual separates with cap-toe wedges, statement silver jewelry and a studded clutch, or throw on comfy booties and a messenger bag for an easy day look.  Hope everyone is having a great week!

Well kids, today is my birthday.  Yesterday I had so much fun celebrating with good friends, good food, plenty of mimosas and the softest faux suede dress imaginable.  (And new favorite boots that were a birthday gift to myself.)  I feel so lucky to have the most amazing friends and family in my life and hope everyone had a great weekend!

P.S. - Happy Veteran's Day and a huge thank you to all of America's veterans!

After creating today's post, I took one complete look at it, and three words came to mind: Taylor. Tomasi. Hill.  As New York City's resident redhead fashion force and the former accessories director of Marie Claire Magazine (where she created hands-down some of my favorite accessories-based editorials), Taylor is photographed as frequently as an A-list celebrity because of the way she effortlessly epitomizes New York street style.  I love the above mix of a feminine, quilted wrap skirt with an ultra-soft basic tee and zipper-embellished biker jacket.  Add a couple of unexpected touches with a snake-print clutch and open-toe sandals, and finish with classic Wayfarers and chic silver accents for a look that (I hope) would be very Taylor-approved.  Happy Friday, everyone!

There's no surer way to jazz up your fall wardrobe than with a biker-style little red jacket.  Wear it over a basic tank and skinny jeans for day or throw it over an asymmetrical dress and d'orsay pump combo (like the look above) for your next Girls' Night Out.  Finish this bold pairing with a colorblocked clutch and standout silver jewelry for a look that is bound to turn a few heads.  Hope everyone is having a great week!

Whether you're looking for a reason to break out last year's sequined New Year's Eve skirt or hoping for an excuse to finally scoop up the one you've had your eye on, keep in mind that with a few minor tweaks, your formerly dressed-to-the-nines mini can become a mainstay in your fall wardrobe.  The key to keeping the look from venturing, well, WAY over the top is to pair it with something casual and covered-up like this relaxed sweatshirt and easy studded booties.  A chunky chain necklace and wrap watch tie in with the edgy appeal of the boots, and simple stacked rings, aviators and a classic black bag complete the fun look.

On a daily basis, I spend A LOT of time browsing online retail sites.  Seriously, A LOT.  And it's all for you, people!  (Well, and maybe a little for myself.)  Of all the squillions of new arrivals out there, some things just jump right off the screen at me, and this little boho-glam, fringed, embroidered, all-around-awesome kimono is one of those pieces.  Throw it over a basic tank and understated flares, and add a cap-toe bootie and oversized fringe handbag for a Kate Hudson meets Steven Tyler bohemian rock star vibe.  Finish the look with an eclectic mix of rings and mounds of gold bangles (not shown).
