There's something about retro-inspired pieces that just work so well for summer. I love a good chunky platform sandal paired with easy-fitting shorts and a printed blouse. Add a briefcase-like clutch and a leather watch for a slight menswear feel, and finish with an eclectic mix of jewels. Hope everyone is having a great week!

This weekend we spent an amazing couple of days camping up in Bishop, California.  I had never been before, but the town itself was pretty cute, and the campgrounds and lakes just outside of town were seriously beautiful.  We had so much fun spending time with good friends around a fire, hanging out by the lake (pretending to fish), and spending the night in a tent (alternating between freezing at night and sweating through the mornings).  It's rough coming back to the real world, but I can think of no better way to ease into the work week than with comfy boyfriend jeans and an easy bohemian blouse.  Flat sandals, a standout bag and fun silver accessories (seriously loving this necklace) are the perfect cherries on top.  Hope everyone else had an amazing weekend!

So far, this week has been warm to say the least, and with highs this weekend in the 90's, I'm pretty sure that summer has officially arrived in Southern California.  Growing up in Louisiana, jeans were always banned from rotation in the summer, but this wide-leg chambray version from Current/Elliott has me changing my mind.  They are so soft and comfortable, and with a lightweight sleeveless blouse, overheating is a little less likely.  A new favorite structured handbag and some old favorite bangles finished off the look.  Hope everyone is having a great week!

This past weekend was one of the most jam-packed (and exhausting) we've had in a while, but it was so much fun.  We celebrated a couple of birthdays with friends and got to attend the beautiful wedding of one of my favorite couples.  On Saturday, we spent a relaxing afternoon wine tasting in Temecula (a definite must if you're ever in the area).  The weather was amazing, the wine was delicious, and the company of good friends made for the perfect way to spend a Saturday.  How was your Memorial Day weekend?

The look above makes me think of Strawberry Lemonade, and this bold pink mini dress is probably the brightest thing I own.  It's an oldie but goodie for sure.  (Some would say I have a problem letting go of things in my closet, but when I pull out a dress I love that I haven't worn in years, it makes the clutter a little more worth it, no?)  Since it isn't quite summer yet, I paired it with an easy denim jacket.  Nude wedges, aviators, and a straw clutch completed the look.  What flavors in your closet, home, makeup bag or surroundings are currently inspiring you?

I've definitely had a thing for Zara shorts lately, and I have a feeling this little love affair is just getting started.  Whether they're striped linen,silk paisley, or silver sequins, you really can't go wrong with a pair of statement shorts for summer.  For an easy and chic warm weather look, pair roomy linen shorts with an ultra lightweight chambray shirt and add nude wedges.  Finish with a crossbody bag and a few statement gems.  What summer staples are currently on repeat in your wardrobe?

So I finally got my hands on a fresh pair of boyfriend jeans, and there is probably nothing more comfortable and day-to-night versatile in the denim world.  During the day, pair these with a tee or loose blouse and flat sandals, and later, throw on a pair of heels and a blazer to dress them up.  These Sam Edelman heels have become a definite go-to, and I'm really loving silver-toned accessories lately, especially this statement ring by Boera.  I'll definitely be living in these slouchy staples all summer long.  Hope everyone is having a great week!

Classic white skinnies are definitely a spring and summer must-have, but finding the perfect pair can be a real challenge.  I always look for a pair with the right amount of stretch in a denim that is just a bit thicker.  The price tag of these "Rock Star Super Skinny Jeans" from Old Navy made me a little skeptical about the quality, but I was pleasantly surprised once I tried them on.  They fit like a glove, are available in about a jillion colors, and will only set you back $19.  Steal.  This past weekend, I paired the spring denim with a lightweight blouse, a structured jacket and heels for dinner and later dressed them down with an easy chambray shirt and flats.  Whether dressed up or worn casually, you really can't go wrong with a great pair of white skinnies.  How will you wear them this summer?
