Well, it's happening again. We're in the midst of Shopbop's Friends & Family sale, and my cart runneth over. Shop now and take 25% off everything on the site (including sale!) by entering "INTHEFAMILY14" at checkout. (And hurry up - the sale ends tomorrow!) I've got my eye on a ton of things, but this little white fringed number will definitely be landing on my doorstep soon. Which spring pieces will you pick up today?
Athleta tank and pants (c/o); Old Navy jacket; BCBGeneration booties; Olivia + Joy handbag (c/o); Ray-Ban sunglasses
When Athleta reached out about their new collection of City Pants, I knew they would probably become a new favorite, and since trying them on, I've pretty much been L-I-V-I-N in them. Slouchy, super soft things are my, well, thing, and these are just that. The whole idea is that these ultra-comfortable pants can take you from a workout to the streets, whether you're headed out to run errands or grab a bite with friends. I wore the latter look above out for sushi one night this week and have been lounging in the hoodie (another new favorite) pretty much all week. (Give me a break, I've been a little under the weather.) I'm sold on these pants, and if you're like me and enjoy a little comfort every now and then (crazy, I know), then they're definitely worth a try. Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!
In my handbag:
Banana Republic skirt; Cabi shirt (c/o); Sam Edelman heels (sold out, but love these)
In my makeup bag:
For the Pre-FABB Cocktail Parties:
Equipment blouse; Sanctuary leggings; Joe's heels; Karen London bracelet
In my suitcase:
BCBGeneration heels; Pantene Pro-V Blowout Extend Dry Shampoo; Pantene Pro-V Root Reboot Dry Shampoo; Nine West blue suede heels
This week I'm gearing up for my fourth Lucky FABB (Fashion and Beauty Bloggers') Conference, and I'm just as excited as ever. This time I'll be joining my fellow New Voices of Beauty bloggers and COVERGIRL, Olay Fresh Effects, Pantene, and Secret to take in the conference and then chat beauty and blogging on a panel during day two. While my outfit for day one is still in the works (no minute like the last minute), I've definitely begun setting aside my beauty essentials and a few fashion staples. I'm so, so excited to see old friends, meet a few new ones, and take in Lucky FABB #4. Who else is going?

Every now and then a clothing line will really catch my eye, and right now, [BLANK NYC] has my attention. I've known about the brand for a while now, but have only recently begun exploring every fit and wash that I find. (Back in my denim PR days, I made it my business to know every competitor brand, but it certainly wasn't a normal practice to wear them.) In the pairs that I own, I've found that the fit and quality are definitely worth the more-than-reasonable price point. (Most styles retail under $100.) I started off with this vegan leather pair of skinnies that I wore. to. death. Then during fashion week I stopped into the Piperlime store and picked up these dark, clean skinnies. I'm in love with the color, and they've definitely become my go-to pair of skinnies. Earlier this week I scooped up these pull-on flares from Nordstrom, and I'm in love. They're so comfortable and flattering and just so happened to be the perfect length for me (the benefits of being tall). Now, I've started checking out their spring collection, and it's dangerous. I'm loving anything ripped and distressed and all of the vegan leather. If you haven't already, I'd definitely suggest taking a peek at the looks above. What are some of your go-to denim brands?
Sanctuary pants, tee (similar), and jacket (coming soon; also love this version); Jessica Simpson heels; Michael Kors watch and bracelet
For spring and summer, there's pretty much nothing I love more than an all white look, and with these luxe basics from Sanctuary, it's incredibly easy to pull off. These joggers (also available in black and a great kaleidoscope print) drape perfectly, feel amazing on, and will pair with so many pieces in your spring wardrobe. Worn with this casual mesh tee and the softest leather jacket (seriously), the vibe is sleek and easy. Check out more of Sanctuary's spring collection below for statement pieces and gotta-have basics. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I've worn the same perfume every day now for years and had no plans of changing it, but when I received an email about Commodity Goods, I thought it sounded like a pretty cool concept. For $9, you can receive your own "fitting kit" complete with samples of all ten of their women's or men's frangrances to try on at home. The idea is to take your time, check each of them out (away from a department store counter), and figure out which scent or scents work for you. Once you choose what you like, you can order a trio of 10ml sprays or a 100ml bottle of your favorites. (They'll even credit back the $9 spent on the fitting kit.) The packaging is simple but so pretty, and the scents are pretty addictive. I love something light and floral for day, and Dew and Rain fit the bill perfectly. Today I switched things up and tried out Gold, and it is now my favorite for a night out or special occasion. It's warm and rich, perfect for a summer night. I'm thinking these will be my perfect trio, but I've still got a couple scents to try. As a blogger, I get a lot of emails about new brands and beauty launches, and this one is definitely a keeper. If you're feeling like you're in a fragrance rut or just want to try something new for spring, a Commodity Goods fitting kit is definitely worth checking out.
Today I'm sharing another look from myfun day shooting with Sanctuary Clothing, and this one feels so fresh for spring. Admittedly this dress was way outside my comfort zone (see: tight clothing), but I must say that after a while it really started to grow on me. There's something a little old school about a curve-hugging midi dress (and curve hug it did), and the contrasting stripes add a modern twist. This dress is definitely one to add to your spring wishlist once it arrives, and in the meantime check out the other great black and white styles from Sanctuary below. Hope everyone is having a great week!
True Religion jeans; Forever 21 blouse; ASTR leather top; H&M jacket; Zara heels; Winky Designs clutch (c/o); Calvin Klein sunglasses; La Mer Collections watch (c/o); Serene Sky midi ring (c/o)
Last night capped off awards season with the biggest fashion show of them all: The Academy Awards. The Oscars are always my favorite red carpet to watch because the stars tend to go for all-out glam, and last night's looks did not disappoint. Kerry Washington and Olivia Wilde (below) showed that dressing a bump can be oh-so-glam; Lupita Nyong'o continued her red carpet domination (and made us all cry with her acceptance speech); Kate Hudson reminded everyone of her serious red carpet power; and Charlize Theron killed it in standard Charlize fashion.
While beautiful pastels and metallics definitely had their place on the carpet last night, some of my favorite ladies stunned in head-turning black. Charlize, always a favorite of mine, was hands-down my best dressed of the night, but all of the women below deserve major credit for standing out in black. From a jewel-encrusted top to an eye-catching bow back to a fun lace peplum, the key to rocking these black looks is all in the details. Inspired by the red carpet, I created my own dark look and broke up the monotony by mixing textures. Finish the look with a sequin clutch and a bold pink lip. Looking back at this season's awards shows, how will you create your own red carpet inspired "One of a Kind Style"?

A few weeks ago I got to hang with the ladies of Sanctuary Clothing in their beautiful showroom and check out their spring line. The new collection can be described as three different personalities (Surplus, Freestyle, and Modernist), and I stepped into the role of the Modernist Girl. The pieces were right up my alley: lots of neutrals, soft textures, and great prints. I pretty much wanted to live in every single outfit I put on, and today I'm sharing a little sneak peek. Available now, this little black jacket is so perfect for transitioning into spring. Dress it up with a printed shift (like above), go casual with skinny jeans, or have a little fun withthese printed pants (my personal favorite). Shop more looks from spring below, and stay tuned for more snaps coming soon!
