Take a cue from the well-dressed fashionistas below and try out spring's sneaker trend.  Equipped with a hidden wedge, these kicks can lengthen legs and elevate your look.  Pair them with a loose sweater and denim shorts, and add a feminine touch with a structured handbag, a delicate scarf and simple, dainty jewelry.  Finish the look with classic aviators for a chic, model-off-duty vibe.

For some reason (perhaps dating back to a certain hot pink polyester number at the age of 12), I have a strong objection to almost anything in fashion dubbed "asymmetric", mainly hemlines.  (Unless of course we're talking about a business in the back, party in the front hi-lo hem, which is really more of a mullet, but I digress.)  This being said, you can understand my surprise when I inexplicably fell for this neutral little t-shirt dress with (gasp!) "asymmetric" in the very name.  The simple, clean lines stray from a basic tee only in the unexpected, asymmetric sleeves, and paired with understated wedges, a delicate scarf, a snake-print handbag and silver jewelry, it exudes that so-chic-and-didn't-even-try thing that can be so hard to achieve.  First step: asymmetric sleeves.  Next step: Crocs.  Just kidding.  Have a great weekend!

And so it begins.  This weekend the musical, fashionable, photographic madness known as Coachella descends on the California desert, and so I present you with the third (and not yet final) installment of my Coachella Dreamin' series.  I love the contrast of a free-spirited tee paired with sweet and girly lace shorts and tough ankle booties.  Add a little color with this fun lavender fringe bag and a hair-wrangling crochet headscarf (which comes in so many amazing colors).  Finish the look with oversized shades and statement silver jewelry.  Here's wishing all of the festival-goers safe and happy travels.  Not attending Coachella this year?  Well here's wishing you a turned-up-radio, dancing-around-in-your-underwear kind of weekend.

Handbag: H&M; Necklace: (c/o) Karen London; Cuff: (c/o) Karen London
Although still battling my previously mentioned accessory organization war, I've since decided that a few pieces are just too beautiful to put away.  I've also decided that anything Karen London falls into that category.  I'm a sucker for anything chain-embellished, so this Give To Me cuff (previously seen here) is definitely a wardrobe and dresser staple that is right up my alley.  Comparatively, the chain-strapped H&M bag was a cheap thrill that has been in constant rotation.  What are some of your current favorite accessories?

Dear Diary,
I bought myself these amazing Boutique 9 Cesena purple wedges for my birthday, but I'm having trouble finding some great outfits for going out to wear them with.  Any advice?  Thanks!
- Rachel M.
Dear Rachel,
Kudos for treating yourself to your own birthday present because after all, who knows you better than, well, you?  For a low-key look, throw on basic skinny jeans, a black tank and zipper-embellished jacket.  Complement the shoes with a bright clutch and sleek silver jewelry.  If you're feeling a bit more daring, try one of the night-out perfect looks below complete with red and gold accessories.  Although intimidating at first, purple platforms don't have to be scary, and whether you stick with a palette of neutrals or mix in other bold colors, I think you'll find you can rock these wedges with so many pieces you already own.

Whether accompanied by the matching suit jacket or worn alone with a statement paisley blouse, these crepe wide-leg pants in sleek ivory are a flattering spring staple.  Paired with a sturdy heel, these trousers elongate legs, and combined with a bold yellow clutch and statement silver jewelry, they create a look that screams spring chic.

For the spring and summer months, I love the simple versatility of a basic black maxi dress.  Whether worn alone with sandals or paired with a cardigan or sheer kimono top (like this version from Free People), it's always an easy option to pull out of your closet and throw on.  Create shape by adding a skinny waist belt, and complete the look with silver jewelry and a standout (newly acquired but definite favorite) liquid-look metallic clutch.  A go-to dinner outfit on Friday night, it definitely came to life when hit with beach winds.

Dear Diary,
I'll be attending a beach wedding in June.  Any outfit suggestions?
- Jessie B.
Dear Jessie,
A beach wedding usually signifies a slightly dressed-down dress code, so choose a simple and flattering sundress for a look that is both sleek and understated.  (Also consider the imminent possibility of beach winds: a longer hem like the dresses above and below right or a heavier fabric like the neon lace version below may help keep you covered.)  Fit in with the earthy vibe by trading in heels or wedges for low-key metallic sandals that will allow you to walk along the sand and dance comfortably all night.  Complete your look with easy jewelry and an accenting clutch.  Hope this helps!

This week we finally got a little warm weather during the day, and we took full advantage by enjoying a sunset by the river jetty. During spring and summer I live in various shorts and a tee, and a sweater and moccasins are the perfect companions once the sun goes down.  Stacked bracelets and a new favorite necklace helped to complete the look for a perfect end to the day.  Hope everyone is having a great week!

A few weeks ago I had the chance to see Raven + Lily's spring collection in person at Elle Communications' New at Elle event, and I must say, the wooden/beaded/leather silver and gold pieces were right up my alley.  After learning more about the company and how the jewelry is made, I'm even more impressed with the line.  Handmade by HIV-positive women in Ethiopia using melted bullet casings and recycled metals, these Raven + Lily pieces help to create sustainable jobs and a sense of pride in the women who create them.  Additionally, proceeds are returned to the community to help fund healthcare and literacy programs.  Building our spring jewelry collection while supporting communities in Ethiopia?  Now that's fashion we can all feel good about.
