With a few key accessories, an otherwise "buttoned up" mod look transitions perfectly to your after-work plans. Start with a well-tailored peplum pencil dress and a cropped tuxedo jacket for a color-blocked, office-friendly vibe. Add a couple of unexpected touches with a sleek lucite heel and a contrasting lucite clutch. Finish with black and gold accessories for an overall look that works just as well with your boss as with your best girlfriends. xoxo

While I'm perfectly happy on those shorts-and-t-shirt kind of days, sometimes, more is more. Sometimes the only way out of a funky, mid-week rut is to throw it all on at once: embellished sleeves, a printed mini skirt, contrasting printed heels (in calf-hair, no less), an eye-catching metal belt and layers of jewelry. Give the sweatshirt a slight front-tuck to show off the belt, and rock a statement ring on each hand. Layer similar necklaces of different lengths, and top it all off with an easy, chain-strap handbag and understated bangles. Hope everyone is having a great week! xoxo Get the Look!
Ease your winter wardrobe into spring without sacrificing warmth by focusing on the color palette. A nice neutral sweater (love the back zip detailing on this one) lightens up tough coated denim, especially when paired with nude pumps and a two-tone nude clutch. Finish the look with a colorful collar, delicate shades and a few scattered rings. How are you prepping your wardrobe for spring? xoxo

When it comes to everyday basics, I'm a big fan of black, but I do love the occasional bright print for spring. This bold blouse took on a retro vibe when paired with wide leg jeans and a new favorite cross-body bag. It's part of Alice & Trixie's resort collection which is filled with fun, bright pieces. (Check it out for a sweet little jolt to your closet.) Hope everyone had a great weekend! xoxo
It's always interesting to me when I post an outfit inspiration and a reader sends an Instagram or Twitpic my way later that week. The same inspiration pieces lead to so many one of a kind styles by so many fabulous one of a kind readers. I like to think of my own "One of a Kind Style" as a tomboy feel mixed with a Southern flare and a definite love of sparkle. Influenced by both South Louisiana (my original home) and Southern California (my home for the last six years), comfortable basics rule the roost when it comes to invaluable closet square footage, but equally important are the treasured accessories, from the cheap thrill clutch to my grandma's ring that rarely leaves my finger. Jewelry has definitely become a huge part of my style, and in a strange way, it also serves as a sort of security blanket. Whether I'm headed out for the night or curled up on the couch at home, you'll rarely find me without a few signature baubles. (I've been told there's a certain jingle jangle associated with those signature stacks. Doesn't bother me.) In the spirit of individuality, I'm so excited to partner with Diet Dr Pepper for their "One of a Kind Style" campaign, headed by the blogger who gave individuality a whole new meaning, The Man Repeller. And what kind of campaign would it be without a little bit of giving? As part of the Diet Dr Pepper Sweepstakes starting on March 4th, you can enter to win one of thirty AH-MAZING one-of-a-kind prizes. (Trust me, you want to get your hands on these fashion pieces. Personally, I've got my fingers crossed for a little victory myself.) Keep checking back for details, and in the meantime, scoop up a little inspiration from this One of a Kind Style board on Pinterest. Feeling inspired yet? With delicious one of a kind taste and zero calories, Diet Dr Pepper is as unique as you are. We know it's a long road to get to who we're meant to be. Along the way, we make choices, we make mistakes, we get up, and we keep going. And like an amazing work of art, we become one of a kind. At Dr Pepper, we celebrate all that makes us an original, from your unique style to adventurous spirit. To check out more one of a kind stories, watch our films at www.youtube.com/drpeppervideos. If you're looking for a way to spice up your skinnies on a dull old weekday, I'd say a few sequined stripes are a pretty safe bet. Even better? Layer on a little (faux) fur for good measure. (Yesterday was a windy one, so please excuse my baby-fine toddler hair gone wild.) Is it just me, or do "short weeks" have a way of feeling a bit long sometimes? Happy Thursday, everyone; we're almost there! xoxo
Mother Nature has been a fickle little lady around here lately, so I've made a little rule for this week: when in doubt, choose trousers. Black silk trousers like these are an easy throw-on-and-go option that can be layered up to battle a chill and stripped down to the basics in a warm office building. Here, a quotable tee and zippered jacket paired with cap-toe heels add a bit of edge to the easy trousers. Finish the look with a floral handbag, printed sunnies and a few pieces of silver jewelry. Hope everyone's week is off to a great start! xoxo

Lately I've become obsessed with finding the best basic tees for spring, and this Micromodal version by LA Made is definitely one of the best. Featuring drop shoulders and a slight hi-lo hem, the loose fit is perfect, and the fabric is something I'd like to drape myself in for the rest of my life. (Or maybe that's going too far...whatever, it's a good tee.) The ultimate go-to for those days when I have "nothing to wear", it plays well with everything from leather shorts to skinny jeans and is great for throwing over a bikini for the beach. And here's the good news: right now you can score 20% off site-wide at LA Made to scoop up this tee (or anything else on the site) for yourself. Hope everyone has a great week, and happy shopping! xoxo
This weekend we had a couple of those glorious February beach days that I look forward to in Southern California, and I couldn't wait to pull out this Ella Moss tunic that's been burning a hole in my closet all winter. It's part of Swimspot's 2013 Resort collection, and along with these jeweled sandals and an adorable little bag by TLC&You, it will definitely be in high rotation all summer long. Overall we had a nice, relaxing weekend, and I hope you all did too. Happy Presidents' Day, ya'll! xoxo
One styling question that readers always seem to email about is print mixing, and my main advice for easily layering prints is to keep them all in the same color palette. Here, a muted Aztec-printed skirt plays nice with a similarly hued floral coat, while an ivory blouse and speckled grey sweater provide the extra layers. Complement the look with grey booties and a light blue scarf, and add an unexpected touch with a bold red handbag. What's your favorite way to layer prints? Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!
