This week seems to be dragging along at a record slow pace, and getting dressed in the morning takes a little extra brain power.  It's times like these when all I want to do is throw on comfy jeans and an oversized tee and call it a day.  To avoid the whole "I'm so tired I didn't even try" thing, choose a luxe tee, and skip the sneakers for a pair of cute booties.  Pull the look together with a contrasting scarf and handbag combo and sleek accessories.  Oh, and a cozy jacket is probably necessary, seeing as it's January and all.  T.G.I.(almost)F.,  kids.

Spring has sprung!  Alright, alright...it's way too soon and actually not even close, but I'm thinking that a heavy dose of bold green could get anyone in a summer state of mind.  Pair this peekaboo mini dress with a black blazer and statement heels, and add a little interest with an animal print clutch.  Finish the look with a pair of cuffs and standout cocktail rings with hints of gold.  Now, about that tan of yours...

Breathe new life into a classic olive parka by pairing it with a rich burgundy and camel color palette.  Start with cozy cords and a slouchy tee, and add a lightweight, cinched-waist parka.  Pull the look together with chic booties and a structured handbag, and finish with a touch of pink fur.  Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Jeans: (c/o) True Religion; Sweater, Coat and Necklace: (c/o) H&M; Wedges: Urban Outfitters; Clutch: (c/o) Gorjana
Last night we broke from our usual homebody weeknight routine and grabbed an early dinner at Duke's which quickly sent me into a coconut shrimp slash shrimp and crab Louie salad food coma.  The second skin denim (my fancy pants, as I call them) was a good choice pre-feast, and the freshly arrived Gorjana clutch may have inspired the rest of the look.  After enjoying a cocktail and the post-sunset glow on the water, we were home and in more appropriate comfort clothes by 8:00.  It was a school night, after all.  Happy Friday, everyone!

What a difference a week makes.  After last week's frigid, fur-wearing weather, it's crazy how nice and Southern California-esque this one has turned out to be.  This C&C California faux suede dress has quickly become a favorite LBD of mine, and it was the perfect winterish (without being too hot) option for a work event this week.  The scarf and jacket are a couple of those random items that I picked up and never realized that I'd still be wearing them years later.  The next few days are supposed to be gloomy and rainy, and I couldn't be more excited for some quality TV time on the couch.  Is it Friday yet?

Or perhaps we'll call this one The Day After Vegas.  For those days when the thought of getting dressed makes you want to crawl deep back under the covers, boyfriend jeans and a slouchy sweater are cozy no-brainers.  When paired with interesting cutout booties and a structured handbag, the look reads more eclectic model-off-duty than just-rolled-out-of-bed, and a few statement gold accessories never hurt anyone.  Hope everyone is having a great week!

Dear Diary,
I'm heading out to Las Vegas this weekend, and I want to dress "Vegas Fancy" on Saturday night.  I was talked into this white dress the other day at BCBG, and I could use a little style advice.  (I was hesitant to buy white in the middle of winter, but the dress fits really well.)  How can I accessorize the dress to make it a little more winter-appropriate?
- Cristie
Dear Cristie,
In my opinion, the rules about wearing white in winter went out the window around the time Gaga draped herself in raw meat and actually made it across a red carpet alive.  Even if you don't agree, then there's no better time to throw caution to the wind than during a "Vegas Fancy" night in Sin City.  To winterize the white mini, add a fitted black leather jacket and head-turning black booties.  Finish with black and gold accents and a bold "Book Club" clutch because, well, I find it amusing for a night out in Vegas.  For a different take, add a pastel jacket and color-blocked heels like the look below, and finish with tough, gunmetal accessories.  Whichever way you decide to go, remember that a positive attitude is your best accessory, and at the end of the day, pretty much anything goes in Vegas.  (Animal carcass clothing excluded.)

There's no better way to break up a neutral color palette than with a bold pop of orange and contrasting blue accents.  A cinched blazer paired with basic grey skinnies creates a flattering silhouette, while gold accessories are the perfect final touch.  Hope everyone had a great weekend!

If last week's winter take on a maxi skirt was a bit too intense for you, then maybe today's laidback boho version is a bit more your speed.  Pair this bright satin resortwear maxi with an easy tank and oversized cardi, and add comfortable suede booties.  Finish with an oversized metallic clutch and antique silver jewelry for a Saturday-friendly look that's perfect for this weekend's sunny forecast.  Happy Friday, everyone!
